It is truly hard to believe that the year is coming to a close so soon. One more week of testing to go, and then we celebrate with an Awards Ceremony and Year End Picnic! On Saturday, we will also have a Garden Volunteer Day from 11 AM - 2 PM in conjunction with the first annual Oregon Hill Garden Day when neighbors open up their yards to the public. Come on out to get some volunteer hours! At 12 pm we will have a dedication ceremony in appreciation of Ian Fleming's beautiful pergola. And at 1 pm, Beekeeper David Stover and I will be at the apiary for a demonstration and discussion about our bees. Please join us!

Please review the SOL and AP Assessment Schedule. Makeup and expedited retakes will be scheduled this week and communicated with inidividual students.
- Students should check the hallway announcement board each day to see room assignments.
- Students should be on time for all exams.
- If students need help with transportation to Norrell (2120 Fendall Ave) please let us know in advance.
- Students may need to wait outside Norrell until space is ready. Look for Micah!
- All SOL exams and DIGITAL AP exams require a charged Chromebook.
- Snacks will be provided, but please bring a water bottle.
Cell Phone Pouch Collection We will collect pouches over the next two weeks. The pouches proved to be one more thing to monitor, and not the best fit for our school. Still, I'm more convinced than ever that we all need to disconnect from all devices more than we do. We should not see phones from 8:30 - 11:30 AM and 12:30 - 3:30 PM. If we see them, we will take them. Parents, thank you for continuing to plan ahead and contact your child only during the lunch period.
Chromebook & Charger Collection We will begin collecting soon. If students have lost their chromebook/charger, payment should be made here.

Student Ambassadors represent our school at various events throughout the year. They share their experiences at Open and help recruit new students from middle schools. Richmond Forum Scholars interact directly with the Forumβs visiting speakers. Past speakers have included Barack Obama, Tina Fey, Russell Wilson, and many more. You meet and network with prominent local leaders in business, education, the arts, technology, and politics. You will staff VIP speaker receptions, serve as a greeter and check in sponsor guests, escort speakers and other event personnel, act as a runner when required by staff, and complete other assignments, as needed, to support each program. Graduation Updates
Seniors are enouraged to celebrate themselves by sharing their decisions with RPS at outreach@rvaschools.net. Please also complete the Senior Exit Survey along with Checkout Forms by May 20. The survey and form must be submitted to receive graduation tickets.
Parents and students: please read the RPS Graduation Letter below for important details, including:
- Guidelines on Individualization of Graduation Attire Must be approved by Clary by May 20.
- Enhanced Graduation Ceremony Protocols (In Spanish)
- VUU Campus Map
- Tickets will be distributed at gradution rehearsal on May 20
- Check out Froms and Senior Exit Survey should be completed by May 20
- Graduates and guests may begin to arrive 1 hour in advance of the ceremony
