Holy Name Highlights
September 28, 2018
Note from the Principal's Desk
In the gospel at Mass on Tuesday, Jesus told us that those who "hear the word of God and act on it are his brothers and sisters." This is a great message for all of us as we try our best to live out our faith. As we go through this next week, let us all challenge ourselves to truly be walking examples of our faith!
A special thank you to all the volunteers who came out last weekend to build the playground! We are so blessed to have such amazing support! The finishing touches will happen this weekend as we finish spreading the mulch. Monday afternoon we will celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony! Thank you all for your continued support and a special thank you to Mrs. Carroll for all of your hard work!
Have a great weekend!

Oktoberfest Arrival and Dismissal
As you know, Oktoberfest is next Friday and Saturday, October 5-6! Due to set-up for Oktoberfest, we will have altered arrival procedures on Wednesday and Thursday next week. We will also have staggered dismissal procedures on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Depending on when the tents are taken down from the parking lot, we MAY need to have altered arrival on Monday, October 8 as well- we won't know ahead of time, so please be prepared! Carefully read the information below and contact your child’s teacher or the office if you have any questions. As a reminder, we have no school on Friday, October 5.
ARRIVAL (October 3-4, and possibly Monday, October 8)
• Arrival in the alley will remain the same. Please DO NOT use 16th Street to access the alley. Enter the alley from 13th or 14th Street.
• Arrival in the main lot- The parking lot will be unavailable, so we will ask that all cars stay in a straight line on 16th Avenue and pull all the way up (even with the Hartman Hall entrance). We will have several staff members stationed along 16th Avenue to direct families, and help children safely walk into the building. We greatly appreciate your patience!
STAGGERED DISMISSAL (October 2, 3, 4)
• ALL students will need to be picked up in the alley. You should use 13th Street or 14th Street to enter the alley and follow the line of cars until you are on the south side of the school building. DO NOT attempt to enter the alley on 16th Street as this will cause a significant traffic jam. At this time staff members will be present to help all children to their cars. Please check the times below for each dismissal group, and plan your arrival time accordingly.
• 3:00- primary students and older siblings
• 3:10- intermediate students and older students
• 3:20- middle school students
• walkers- the crossing guard will pick the walkers up from Holy Name at 3:15
We will notify you through Jupiter of any unforeseen changes.
We look forward to seeing you next weekend at Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest Sign-Ups!
The Holy Name Catholic Church Oktoberfest, scheduled this year for October 5th and 6th, is a fun and family-friendly festival with great live music, delicious authentic homemade German food and desserts, and popular adult beverages. It's one of Holy Name's biggest fundraisers of the year, and because a significant portion of the Parish budget is used to support the school, this fundraiser also directly benefits our students.
The Holy Name Oktoberfest Committee is now seeking volunteers to help make it a success. Please consider donating just a few hours of your time in support of this important fundraiser for Holy Name students, teachers, and parishioners. (Note: While Roncalli students are welcome to volunteer as service hours, our Holy Name kids are not old enough to sign up.) Use the SignUp Genius link below, or call the Parish Office at 317-784-5454. We can't do this without you!
