2nd Semester Reminders
1. Students are not to be on their cell phones during educational hours. We are allowing them to have them before class starts, during their breaks, and after class time has ended. Please remind your students of this and if you need to reach your student for any reason, please call the school at
317-392-4191.
2. Everything that we do here at BRCP is to set our students up for what's next, whether they are going to college or starting a career. One area that we are still trying to help our students with is attendance. Several students have had issues with their attendance for 1st semester. If your student is out for any reason, please give us a call to the BRCP attendance line. Also, if your student goes to the doctor, please have them grab two doctor's notes, one for their home school and one for BRCP. That will help us as we move forward.
We look forward to a great semester!

March 2025 Students of the Month
Welding AM - Logan Bassett, Sophomore at Shelbyville High School
Logan stays busy and engaged in the learning process. He has taken the role of foreman and makes sure the booths and lab are cleaned at the end of the class period. He also takes it upon himself to help other students when they need it. He is a good role model for the other students.
Welding PM - Brayden Tharp, junior at Shelbyville High School
Brayden has always been respectful to me and shows a strong interest in welding. He works hard to complete projects and is usually one of the first to complete his work. He always ask me if there is anything I need help with in the lab, which I always appreciate.
Health Science Capstone AM: Addison Stieneker, Senior, Shelbyville High School
Addy has a strong drive to pursue a healthcare career. She focuses on her studies in the classroom, in the lab, and at her clinical site. She is willing to help her peers. FastPace Health is her clinical site, and they always have positive feedback about her days with them. Addy is our HOSA Chapter President; she's preparing to lead our chapter to the State Leadership Conference in April. She has been an asset to our health science programs.
Health Science Capstone PM: Sophie Hattabaugh, Senior, Waldron High School
Sophie may appear quiet at first, but it may be due to her hyperfocus in class. She ensures that she stays on task, not only completing her work, but also taking the time to verify the information is correct. Sophie has completed a couple of different clinical experiences, one through American Health Network Greenfield and Willows of Shelbyville. The feedback received is full of praise. Sophie is taking extra time to prepare for the State Leadership Conference in April, again studying and working on her clinical skills. Best of luck to Sophie next month!
Culinary Arts AM: Emerson Lindsey, Junior at Waldron High School
Emerson works hard in the classroom and kitchen. She works well with others and leads by example. Her favorite sports are basketball & tennis. Emerson is a great addition to our program. Keep up the good work, Emerson.
Culinary Arts PM: Kaylee Stewart, Senior at Shelbyville High School
Kaylee takes great pride in her work in the kitchen. She maintains a cool head in the kitchen and does well keeping organizational structure. Her favorite hobby is working with animals. Kaylee has been a great student in our program. Keep up the great work!

March 2025 Staff of the Month
Mr. Dalton Bousum - Welding Instructor
The following was said of Dalton:
-Dalton is passionate and puts his Heart into his students and has good students that are highly skilled when they graduate his class.
-Dalton has worked extremely hard to get his lab set up for his students to have a successful year. He spends countless hours outside of class trying to find creative ways to teach. I often hear from other students how much they enjoy his class not only because of who he is as an instructor, but how he engages students and helps them learn a unique trade.
-Dalton always comes in with a great attitude. He always has positive statements for staff and students.
-Dalton does a great job as a mentor to new staff. Motivates his students and peers with his positivity and outgoing attitude. It's apparent the work he does is inspiring by the increased number of students interested in his program. I have seen him grow into an outstanding instructor and peer.

March 2025 Alumni of the Month
Tony Sprague, Owner of Campbell Tire, 2014 graduate of Shelbyville High School
Tony attended BRCP from 2012-2014 as a part of the Auto Technology class. When asked in what ways did BRCP have an impact on you, Tony said, "BRCP opened the door to his ownership of Campbell Tire. In a way, they gave me everything thing I've got". When asked what advice Tony would give to our students today, he said, "take risks and don't give up on your dreams".
Thank you, Tony, and congratulations on your success!
