Jefferson County 4-H

Thank you to everyone that helped in any way with the 2024 Jefferson County Fair! It was a great week of fun and learning and we hope you all had as much fun as we did! We would also like to thank all of the superintendents, families and individuals that helped make the fair run smoothly as it was a very successful year! It wouldn’t be possible without your hard work! Thank you!

4-H static entries will be entered by the local Extension Office staff. Exhibits for State Fair will need to be in the office by noon on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Letters were mailed out with more detailed instructions for each department. Please look over the list of exhibits and make sure that it matches with your results from county fair. If the results don't match, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make the necessary changes. Any changes must be made August 14th in order for that exhibit to be taken to the State Fair. Static exhibits will be available to pick up on Wednesday, September 4th. Please have your exhibits picked up by Friday, September 13th!

The Nebraska State Fair is thrilled to host the 2nd annual 4-H Day at the Nebraska State Fair. 4-H Day will be Sunday, August 25th. To celebrate our 4-H members statewide they are offering a discounted admission that day that is only for bonafide 4-H members. This is only intended for 4-H members, family members including parents will need to purchase regular admission tickets. This is not just for state fair exhibitors, but for any 4-H member.

Join Nebraska 4-H as we go on-site to learn more about science, agriculture, technology, and more! Virtual Field Trips offer facility tours, educational experiences, and additional resources for teachers. Virtual Field Trips are perfect for youth in 7th-12th grades. Each session will be recorded and made available for on-demand viewing. Youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate.

We are looking for ideas for workshops in 2024 & 2025. We would like to hear ideas of what you would be willing to attend. We would also like to hear from you regarding what times would work best for most people, after school, 1⁄2 days when school is out, etc. Please contact the Extension Office 402-729-3487 and let us know what YOU are interested in.
