ILEARN Checkpoints (Grades 3 & 4) December 10th & 11th
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) is piloting three checkpoints for Grades 3-8 in the 24/25 school year. Seymour Community Schools are participating in this pilot. These checkpoints are a new component of the new ILEARN through-year assessment for English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math, which will be given to all students in Indiana beginning in the school year 2025-2026. This year these checkpoints will take place in Fall, Winter, & Spring. The next checkpoint testing will take place on December 10th & December 11th. Please see the attached documents for more information.
I-LEARN Family Guidance: Grade 3
Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to all the families who supported our Scholastic Book Fair! Your enthusiasm and participation help foster a love of reading in our students and contribute to valuable resources for our school. We are grateful for your commitment to building a community of readers. We also appreciated all who attended the shopping event with your child and waited SO patiently that evening! We appreciate our Redding families.
All Pro Dad - Next Meeting - Friday, December 6th
All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids! This of course is not just limited to dads, but all children and a guardian. However, all children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. Next Meeting: December 6th IN REDDING GYM (7:30 - 8:15 a.m.)
Is your Email Up-to-Date in Harmony?
You can login to your Harmony account and update your email under demographic data or you can contact the Redding office at anytime during the school week and Mrs. Terrell or Mrs. Richey will be happy to update your email for you!
Snacks at Lunch
Students in ALL grades will now have the option to purchase snacks during lunch. These snacks range from chips and crackers, to ice cream on Friday. Students must have money in their lunch accounts to purchase snacks. If a student has no money or a negative balance, they will not be able to purchase snacks. To put money in your child's account, send an envelope to school with your students name, students teacher, and amount of money or add it online HERE.

News from the Nurse Mrs. Lesa Kerkhof
- We will communicate your child's visit to the nurses office through Harmony. Please make sure your email is up to date. Of course if it is an injury we will always try to get ahold of you through phone call.
· Our Kindergarten students are required to have a dental, vision, and physical before starting school. Please continue to send these records to the office.
· All new medications need to be brought into school by a parent or guardian in the original container. A medication form needs to be signed and kept on file in our office.
· Remember students need to be fever free without medication for 24 hrs prior to coming back to school.
· If you have any health concerns for your child please call into the office and speak to the nurse. We look forward to working together to keep our students healthy and in class.
