On Tuesday during lunch, we proudly recognized four exceptional student-athletes at a special ceremony during lunchtime. Surrounded by loved ones, these outstanding individuals were recognized for their unwavering dedication. Their journey has been defined by relentless determination, countless hours of practice, and outstanding leadership both on and off the field.
Congratulations once again to our student-athletes and their families. We eagerly anticipate cheering them on as they pursue their dreams at the collegiate level!

Class of 2024 Senior Brunch Highlights!
This morning the Class of 2024 gathered for a memorable Senior Brunch, marking yet another milestone on their journey towards graduation. At the event, our seniors enjoyed a delicious breakfast spread while participating in raffles that added an extra element of thrill with a skilled hypnotist who entertained the crowd, leaving everyone amazed and delighted.
We owe a huge thank you to our Senior Class Cabinet, Class Advisors, Walnut High Community Club, and ASB Crew for their dedication and hard work in making the Senior Breakfast a resounding success.
Unforgettable Senior Sunset Celebration 🌅
Last Friday, our seniors soaked up the last rays of the day enjoying games, capturing memories with photos, grooving to live music, indulging in delicious tacos, and savoring treats from the Walnut High Community Club dessert bar.
Thank you to our Senior Class Advisors, Mrs. Corolar Schultz and Mr. Andy Schultz for their tireless dedication behind the scenes, making this magical event possible!

Yearbooks Are Here! 📚
It's A Walnut Thing! The Walnut High School Cayuse yearbook, Volume 56, was released to our school on Wednesday, 5/22.
A massive shoutout is for our incredible yearbook advisor, Mrs. So Hee Tan, and our dedicated yearbook students who poured their hearts and souls into crafting over 350+ pages of memories, capturing the essence of our entire school year.
From countless hours of behind-the-scenes editing to late nights filled with creativity, their hard work and dedication truly shine through in this year's edition.
Finals Week Schedule: May 28- May 30
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to ensure that you're well-prepared for the upcoming final exams. Here's the final schedule to help you plan accordingly:
- Monday, May 27: Holiday (No school)
- Tuesday, May 28: Final exams schedule begins
Please take note of this schedule and use the extra day on Monday to rest and prepare for the exams starting on Tuesday, May 28.

Important Senior Timeline
The following dates are VERY important for Seniors to be aware of. Please review the time, date, and location with your Senior to be on time and in the right location.
- Tuesday, May 28 - MANDATORY Graduation Practice I - 8:00 am in the gym
- Wednesday, May 29- MANDATORY Graduation Practice II - 8:00 am in the gym
- Wednesday, May 29 - Senior Awards Night at 6:00 pm in the PAC
- Thursday, May 30 - Graduation! Seniors must arrive at the gym no later than 4:15 pm!
- Friday, May 31 - Grad Nite - Six Flags Magic Mountain. Buses board at 6:10 pm, leave at 6:30 pm return at 4:15 am.
Important Graduation Information
Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Ken Gunn Stadium. The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. We are one week away from graduation and wanted to share some important information leading up to that special day.
GRADUATE DROP-OFF: Graduates can be dropped off on the sidewalk in front of the staff parking lot. The gate by the Admin building will open at 4:00. Spectators will not be allowed through this gate. There is no graduate drop off in the student parking lot.
PARKING: Our student parking lot gates will open at 4:00 pm for general parking. We highly encourage you to carpool, as this lot has limited parking. Parking on the street is also available.
SENIOR CHECK-IN: Graduates must arrive in the gymnasium by 4:15 pm. All Seniors will be searched before entering the gym.
GATES OPEN: Gates will open for general admission into the stadium at 4:30 pm. Handicapped seating is available starting at 4:15 pm. Seniors must visit Mr. Schultz to put guest names down on the handicapped entrance list.
GRADUATION TICKETS: Graduation tickets and handicapped passes will be passed out to Seniors during the graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 29.
HANDICAP DROP-OFF: The designated drop-off point for guests needing assistance is situated on the north side of the stadium, accessible from La Puente Rd. One person is welcome to accompany the guest to the designated handicapped seating area on the track. After dropping off, please proceed to park at the Suzanne Middle School parking lot, ensuring you display a WHS-issued Handicapped Placard to enter the lot. After parking, use the crosswalk on La Puente Rd. to safely reach the graduation ceremony venue. CLICK HERE FOR A MAP
LIVE STREAM: We plan to stream the ceremony live on YouTube for friends and family who cannot attend. We will send you the link next week so you can share it with them.
PROHIBITED ITEMS: Any items that obstruct the view of someone sitting behind you are prohibited. This includes balloons, umbrellas, fatheads, and large signs. We ask that you do not bring air horns or loud noise makers to the ceremony and are considerate of the people sitting around you. We are expecting a sold out ceremony, so we ask that you do not save seats in advance.

Seniors: What to Do About Your Remaining Meal Account Balance
As the school year comes to an end, it's essential to address any remaining balance in your meal account. Below are two options available to you:
1. Refund Request
- Visit www.walnutnutrition.org.
- Click on "Refund Request."
- Complete the Refund portion of the form.
- Email the completed form to nutrition@wvusd.org.
- Refunds will be processed within 10 business days.
- Deactivate autopay to prevent further charges.
- Note: If your student intends to purchase snacks or beverages, ensure there is sufficient money in their account or bring cash for purchases.
2. Transfer Request
- Visit www.walnutnutrition.org.
- Click on "Refund Request."
- Complete the Balance Transfer portion of the form.
- Email the completed form to nutrition@wvusd.org.
- Transfers will be processed within 10 business days.
- Deactivate autopay to avoid automatic deductions.

Latin Alliance Club Selling Stoles
The Latin Alliance Club in partnership with our Walnut High Latin Parent Alliance will be selling graduation stoles starting next week in room Z5 or at the ASB stage during lunch for only $22.

SENIORS: Moving Your Google Drive Files Before Your WVUSD Account is Deactivated
Seniors, as the end of your high school career is getting closer, it's time to start thinking about your Google Drive. Google Takeout will allow you to transfer your Drive to another account. You can start that process by clicking HERE. You can also download all your files using this link, HERE. If you have any questions, please let me know. Remember that once your account is deleted, we can't recover anything from it. The accounts are usually deleted within a week of graduation.
SENIORS: Time to Return Your Chromebooks!
Starting May 6th, Seniors may begin returning their Chromebook and Charger to the TDC during 6th period until 3:35pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
You must return both the Chromebook and the charger to receive your diploma and clear any outstanding withholdings from your records.

CTE Express Online Learning-Summer 2024-SGVROP
San Gabriel Valley ROP is proud to announce our summer CTE Express Online Classes.
Classes begin June 10th, 2024 and registration begins today.
CTE Express Online Classes run from June 10th, 2024 through July 19th, 2024 (6 weeks); upon successful completion 10 credits are issued per course.
These online courses are open to all partner district students on a first come first served basis, beginning today. Please see the attached fliers.
Students can easily register by clicking the enroll now link or scan the QR code located on the fliers. Courses include: Business Management Entrepreneurship and Health Careers.
12th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser
The Walnut High School Golf Tournament will be hosting its 12th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Friday, May 31, 2024, at The California Country Club.
This event raises vital funds to support our golf program. These funds will be used to purchase much-needed equipment, tournament fees, transportation, meals, and a supportive coaching staff to help them succeed on the field!

- Complete Student Parking Application
- Download California Driver's License
- Download evidence of vehicle insurance coverage with student listed as insured driver
Once the Parking Application is completed stickers will be issued by Mrs. Markel at the Assistant Principal's office. If you had a parking decal last year, you MUST complete the form again this year and replace your old sticker. You must display the sticker on your car before parking in our lot. You have until the end of the week to pick up your sticker. WVUSD is NOT responsible for any damage or theft of the vehicle, this includes any articles left in it.
