You are a confirmed member of the Catholic Church. Now what? St. Maria Goretti offers numerous ministry opportunities in need of teen volunteers. We need teen leaders who can use their gifts and talents to give back to the parish!

As a parish, we are preparing for our move to perpetual adoration, when a member of our parish will be praying before the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can sign up on the large board on the north side of the church gathering space or email adoration@smgonline.org

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion ("EMHC") are parishioners who are called to assist the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Priests and Deacons) in distributing the Body and Blood of Jesus to the congregation at Mass. We are in need of more EMHC at weekend Masses. EMHC are required to be a practicing Catholic and to have a regular scheduled Adoration Hour.

HOPE- HOPE is our co-ed program which meets from 7:00pm – 8:30pm on Wednesdays evenings! We need high school teen group leaders as well as potential witness speakers.

Lilies

Lilies inspires Jr. High girls to grow in faith. Lilies will meet two Mondays a month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. We need high school female teen group leaders as well as potential witness speakers.

Valor- Valor encourages virtue and apostolic service in our Jr. High boys. Valor meets two Tuesdays of the month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. We need high school male teen group leaders as well as potential witness speakers.

Knights- One Sunday a Month

The Temple Knights of the Holy Eucharist is a group of male high school students who are devoted to Jesus in the Eucharist and who witness to this devotion through their service in the sacred sacrifice of the Mass.

Y.E.S. (Youth Engaging Students)

Y.E.S. is a group of teens who help plan various youth events and recruit peers to attend youth ministry events. Give back to the parish and have a voice in what Youth events are offered at St. Maria Goretti. Meetings dates and times are created by the members of Y.E.S.

TAG Founder or Foundress: TAG is a discipleship ministry group. The group meets once a month at the group's convenience. The group also selects a location like Noble Romans, Panera or Titus Bakery to meet, chat, and eat! Our TAG meet-ups are created using a term called affinity. “If you could have any other guys/girls in your group, who would you ask?” Then you send me the names of two or three teens you would like to be in a TAG meet up with. As a Founder/Foundress you help with communication and location selection for the duration of the group.

Life Chain- Oct 1 @ 2:00-4:30 p.m.

A peaceful and prayerful public witness by the Christian community standing for one hour, silently praying for our nation to respect life. Gather at Hadley Park and then pizza at Union Jack Pub afterwards.

Trunk or Treat- Oct. 25th from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

YM Nativity Fundraiser Pick Up -Nov. 25 @ 4:30- 8:30 p.m. Assist parish members in picking up their new Nativity Yard Set.

Pie & Penance- Dec 19 @ 7 p.m.

Open Youth Room Night for 3-12 grades.

St. Nick Breakfast- December 8th 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Parish Christmas Caroling- Dec. 14th @ 6:30-8:30 p.m. Do you love to sing? Join us as we spread some Christmas cheer to the neighborhood.

Easter Egg Hunt Stuffing Service Project- April 24 @ 7-8:00 p.m. We will be stuffing LOTS of Easter eggs for the Holy Name Society Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter Egg Hunt April 26th- April 26 @ 9-11 a.m. Teen leaders needed to help hide Easter eggs, lead children in the Hunt, and clean up.

Jr. High Overnight Lock-In Retreat- March 7@ 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
