Lunch Preorders Due Every Thursday
District 41’s food service partner Quest requires preorders for all elementary school lunches. The preordering process allows Quest to better provide the accurate number of lunches to each school building. This process is required for all elementary students including families who have approved fee waivers.
Please order before midnight Thursday, October 3 for next week. You can also order for the entire month of October.
PLEASE NOTE:
- For families who order two lunches for their child on the same day, note that the second lunch will be an additional charge. This includes families who are in the waiver program and receive the first meal free of charge.
- If a beverage is purchased such as milk without purchasing a meal, your account will be charged the a la carte beverage cost.
Preordering is through an app/website called MyMealOrder.com (MMO). In order to get started with MMO you must complete the following steps:
Step 1: Go to mymealorder.com to login Click here
Step 2: Click here for instructions on how to locate your student’s ID. You will need your child’s school ID number to set up myMealOrder.
Step 3: Place your order by midnight on Thursday night for the following week.
Click Here for step by step instructions and screenshots of the process to preorder. (clic para espanol)
If you miss the preorder window and your child doesn’t have lunch from home, your child will be served a Sunbutter sandwich along with a snack and drink. The menus will be up in advance and families may preorder for more than one week at a time.
Please note, the above process is being used solely to collect lunch orders. The charges related to your orders will be automatically transferred to your PushCoin account and applied against your existing balance.

BPAC Fall Fest
The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) recently hosted a fall kickoff event for multilingual families within the district. The event featured a variety of activities, including crafts, refreshments, face painting, and reading sessions. The Glen Ellyn and Glenside public libraries were also present. Over 150 people attended the event!
Thank you to all of the teachers who volunteered their time to help make the event a success. A special thank you to D41 Multilingual Family Liaison Eleanor Kearley for all of the planning and coordination!
Annual Marching Band Day at West
The Hadley Jr. High 8th Grade Band students participated in the Annual Marching Band Day at Glenbard West High School on Friday, September 20. Glenbard West Band Director Mr. Jonathan Walsh, along with student drum majors and section leaders, led the 8th Grade Band students through a morning of marching, music and community building. This combined experience promotes and encourages a smooth transition to the high school program and ensemble. Hadley Band Directors Samantha Tribley and Chris Cooper are “...so incredibly proud of our current and former students as they continue to make music an integral part of their life and education.”

Your Brain & Food
~Wellness tips provided by D41 School Nurse Mrs. Dibadj, PEL-CSN
Did you know that what you eat directly affects the structure and function of your brain and, ultimately, your mood? The digestive system doesn’t just help you digest food, but also it guides your emotions. Here’s an idea. Pay attention to how eating different foods makes you feel — not just in the moment, but the next day. Try eating a "clean" diet for two to three weeks — that means cutting out all processed foods and sugar. See how you feel. Then slowly introduce foods back into your diet, one by one, and see how you feel.
When some people "go clean," they cannot believe how much better they feel both physically and emotionally, and how much worse they then feel when they reintroduce the foods high in sugar and processed foods that are known to enhance inflammation. Give eating clean a try and see how you feel. Your brain is worth the try.
