IREAD Testing
All 2nd & 3rd grade students
Please mark your calendar and schedule appointments around testing time. It is important that students are on time and start their day as stress free as possible! Students will not be permitted to enter or leave the testing room once testing has started. We want them all to have the best chance for success.
Guidance
This month, our 3rd graders are exploring the important topic of self-esteem โ how we feel about ourselves. We're discussing the difference between healthy and unhealthy self-esteem and helping students identify their own positive qualities. Through engaging activities and discussions, we're learning how to build confidence and encourage positive self-perception in ourselves and others.
Mac El PTO Meeting
If you would like to become more involved with the school and help at events for our students and their families, please attend the upcoming meeting. You donโt need to have attended any previous meetings to join us. We will be planning the Spring Family Fun Night and more! Bring your ideas and we hope to see you there!
Date: March 5
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Location: Mac El Group Room
Brave Generation - Circle the State with Song
Brave Generation, our 5th grade choir, participated in the Circle the State with Song Festival held at Western High School. They performed in concert with 10 other local area schools and did a fabulous job representing our school. The guest conductor was Michelle Bade from Anderson University. The choir learned a lot and shared the joy of music together and with the community. We are grateful for the Mac Grant that provided part of the funds for the students to attend. We also appreciate the parents who paid additional fees, brought students to choir practices, and supported their children at the concert. Bravo Brave Generation!
Students: Isis Blackmoon, Emmaleigh Brown, Marley Day, Kennedy Farthing, Alexandria Howard, Emma McAninch, Railynn Munsell, Ellie Nelson, Emmy Page, Jossalyn Posey, Jackson Robinson, Elise Sheets, Stephen Shipman, Sydney Tharp
Teacher: Mrs. Byrn
Transportation Changes
If there is a change in your child's pick up or bus transporation. Please contact the front office. DO NOT leave a message on a teacher's voicemail. The front office will get the message to the teacher and keeps a spreadsheet with the change in transportation information. This ensures that messages do not get lost if a teacher is absent or unable to check their messages before dismissal.
Drop off/Pick up Safety Concern
Drop off: If you are dropping a student off at school in the morning, students should be dropped off at the gym doors. There are adults and cones present for student safety. If you are parked on the north side of the building, students should be walked with an adult to the sidewalk to ensure they get to the gym doors safely. Students should NOT be walking from the staff parking lot across to the school. That is not a staff supervised drop off area.
Pick up: Cars should not be parked in the lanes until 3:00 pm. If you arrive early, you will need to park in a parking space. There are people who have attended meetings or are picking up a sick child who need to leave before the end of the school day. Please be considerate of this as cars may be asked to move to allow cars to pass.
Please be careful driving and have patience during drop off and pick up. Student safety is our priority!
Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial for studentsโ academic success. When students miss school, they often miss important lessons, assignments, and opportunities for interaction with their classmates and teachers. This can lead to falling behind in their studies and feeling discouraged. Itโs essential for students to attend school consistently to build a strong foundation for their education and future goals.
If your child will not be at school, you must leave the reason for your child's absence when calling into the attendance line. Thank you!

๐ Braves of the Week
2nd Grade: Kiera Meadows
Keira was selected for Brave of the Week because I am so proud of her awesome effort and progress this year. She strives to do her best in all things. Keira is a great friend and very helpful to those around her. Keep up the hard work, Miss Keira!
3rd Grade: Vivian Cox
Vivian is a very sweet student. She has been working hard on her goals and reading. Vivian is a leader, helpful, and extremely fun. We are so proud of you! Keep it up!
4th Grade: Malachi Brennan
Malachi has an infectious positive attitude and a servant's heart. He encourages his classmates through his words and actions, as any great leader should. He always asks or goes out of his way to find a way to help. Any student would be lucky to call Malachi a friend and any teacher would greatly benefit to have such a thoughtful and caring young man such as himself.
5th Grade: Mayci Miller
Mayci is kind, thoughtful, and observant. When things seem to be a little crazy, I know I can look to Mayci to be calm and collected but still throw around her sense of humor. Mayci has started to come out of her shell more and more throughout the school year, and I love that we get a little closer each week. Even if we don't say a word, our Friday morning walks from FCA to class are one of my favorite times of the week! I am so excited to continue watching Mayci grow, both academically and athletically. She has so much potential, and I know that with dedication and a positive spirit, she will continue to achieve great things. Keep up the amazing work, MayciโI am so proud of you!
