2024-25 MCE Holiday Assistance Request
As the holiday season quickly approaches, many families are finding that they need assistance. If you need assistance for Thanksgiving or Christmas, there are resources available in our community that can help. Organizations that can assist you will be added to the quick link section of the MCE Counselor webpage as they become available.
As a school community, we can sponsor a limited number of families for Christmas this year. If you need help from the MCE Holiday Gift Card Drive, please complete the form at the link below by Friday, November 29, 2024. Only a limited number of families will be sponsored.
2024-25 Holiday Assistance Request
We do not guarantee Holiday Assistance. By filling out this form, you are letting us know of your need. The Everett School District does not provide holiday assistance. Other families or community partners provide donations for holiday assistance. We are not able to predict how many donations will be received.
If you have any questions, please email Rebecca Medendorp at rmedendorp2@everettsd.org or call 425-385-6810.
We hope that you have a wonderful month of November!

Partnership with Sno-Isle and Everett Public Libraries COMING SOON! Starting the end of October Everett Public School students will be able to use their Student ID to check out library books at any Sno-Isle or Everett Public library! More information is coming soon!
No Library hours outside of school this year due to many meetings, clubs and events.
Library Wishes Club: This is a great way to support the library and honor your child by ordering a book from the Amazon list to donate to the library. Mrs. Williams will put a sticker in the book with your child’s name on it and let them check it out first!

ART CLASS AND GARDEN CLUB, Mrs. Ripley
In October, we learned about Hispanic Heritage Month and created art with Hispanic influences, like Alebrijes and Amate bark designs. K/1 created line rugs and “hot dog/cool cat as they learned about warm and cool colors.
On November 1st, I will post information on my webpage on the MCE website for the Snohomish County Black Heritage “Prodigies for Peace” Writing and Art Contest. A link with the art themes and guidelines will be included, and the deadline for art submission is December 20th.
Big News!
I will teach in student’s classrooms, and Mr. Harvey will teach STEAM in “our” classroom from November through January. We are sharing “push in” until next year, hopefully when we will each have a classroom once again.
Garden Club
This month we began our autumn planting, weeding, and harvesting.
There are new starters in the greenhouse, and we are learning about composting and worms!
With gratitude,
Cristina Ripley, MCE Art Specialist/Garden Club Co-Chair
HEALTH ROOM
As we are heading into the wet PNW weather, the fields can often be muddy. The health room has limited storage and changes of clothes. If you have a student that wants to play on the field under any condition, it will help if a change of clothes is sent to be kept in their locker should they need it.
INJURIES
Please notify the school if your student has any injury that causes physical limitations while with us. Below is MCE’s policy on injuries and PE:
If your child is not able to participate in PE for any health reason, they can be excused for 5 school days with a written note from a parent/guardian. If after 5 school days, the child is still not able to fully participate in PE, a note of excusal is required from a medical professional with a start and end date. Please send either a handwritten excusal note with your child to PE to be given to the PE teacher or email the PE teacher and Health Room by 9:00am on the day of your child's PE so the PE teacher and Health Room are aware of the physical limitations.
Thank you,
Tanya Justice
Health Room Assistant

PE NEWS
Please mark your calendars early so you can join us as a Field Day volunteer on Thursday, June 5, 2025!
Each year the parents/guardians in our school community kindly share their time, support, and smiles with our students as Field Day volunteers! I hope you will be a volunteer this year! Believe it or not, it takes over 100 volunteers to make Field Day happen at Mill Creek Elementary.
Volunteer sign-ups will be in the spring. You will want to make sure you are an approved school district volunteer and that your volunteer status will still be current in June 2025. The district volunteer approval is valid for 2 years. Following is the link to submit/update your volunteer application. District Volunteer Application/Update
Happy Fall!
