Riteway Bus Information
*Instructions & Reminders from Riteway Bus Company:
Students follow seating charts: younger students sit in the front; siblings usually sit together; students are arranged according to bus stops
- **Be on time for bus pick-up...buses are running a tight schedule. If your child misses the bus, the bus must complete its run and drop-off all other students at school. Call the bus company at 262-375-3102 and they will advise you if a bus is able to come back for your child or if you need to provide transportation. If this happens frequently, you will be contacted by the bus company.
- **There will not be bus passes issued for students to ride another route or get dropped off at another stop. Students are routed for one stop in the PM.
All of these instructions to help to keep our students safe and to help the buses to run efficiently.
OES Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick Up Procedures
Please do your part to read & follow these directions.
Be patient and courteous of others in the parking lot.
**If your child is not able to independently get into or out of your vehicle at drop-off or pick-up, you are expected to park in the lot and walk your child across the sidewalk in front of school.
Thank you.
Arrival Procedures:
- The front curbside drop-off & parking lot area are used for OES students.
- Students can begin to arrive (walking, biking, or drop-off) at 8:20am. Outdoor Supervision by staff begins at 8:25 AM when the OES doors are opened. Vehicles should not be lined up prior to that time. Follow directions on posted signs. Please do not arrive early!
- Cars stay to the right of the approach/drop-off lane and pull forward to the elementary parking lot area near the sign that says "Student Drop".
- Students need to be ready before they exit the vehicle: coat on, backpack closed & ready to exit vehicle
- Students exit on right side of vehicle curbside (not into traffic on the left side). *Please move car seat/booster seat to the right side of vehicle if possible.
- Cars pull up tight to the curb along the side of OES for dropping off students (and also picking up in PM). This allows for easy exit for student and for safety of passing cars in left lane.
- Only the student should be exiting the car (unless needing assistance out of a car seat buckle or harness) to allow for quicker departure.
- OES Staff will be positioned outside to assist & direct students.
- Car students use the sidewalk leading directly to the OES doors
- Any car students who will be having school breakfast proceed to the OES doors. They enter the STEAM Design Lab (just inside the doors) for breakfast.
- **Watch for other cars as you pull away from the curb to exit and travel in the left lane.
- All students enter the building starting at 8:25 AM.
Dismissal Procedures:
- Please do not arrive early! Supervision & student pick-up time begins at 3:40 PM. *Wednesday Early Release Dismissal is at 2:50 PM. Vehicles should not be lined up prior to that time.
- Students waiting for car pick-up are lined up under the canopy outside between the OES and OMS doors. OES Staff on duty is equipped with walkie-talkies.
- As cars pull up in the pick-up lane, the staff members see the family name sign (see info below in the next section) displayed in the window. They call the family name and the student/s come out quickly and get into their car.
- Watch for other cars as you pull away from the curb to exit and travel in the left lane.
**If you decide to park for arrival or dismissal, use the parking lot area in front of OES & OMS. You need to park your vehicle and use the crosswalk to drop-off or pick-up your student/s from the sidewalk area in front of the elementary school.
Please use caution & be alert as you enter to park your vehicle & follow the flow of traffic as you exit the parking lot.**
The small parking lot at the front of school is reserved for visitors with a handicapped parking permit and/or other medical needs.
Students who ride bikes to/from school are highly encouraged to wear bike helmets for safety. The helmets can be left on the handlebar or brought into school and kept by their coathook. Students are to follow the sidewalk around the parking lot. They walk their bike on the sidewalk areas right in front of OES/OMS for their safety and that of others in the area.
District Issued Pick-Up Passes for Parking Lot Dismissal
All families should have received district issued pick up passes.
If you choose to pick up your child(ren) from school, families will show the pass upon arrival and your child(ren) will be released to your car. If you do not have your pass for whatever reason, you will need to call the OES office to have your child(ren) released from school.
If you did not receive these passes - please contact the school office.
Early Pick-Up & Late Drop-Off Procedures:
Please notify us if your child will be arriving to school late or you are picking up early.
You may come in our lobby and sign your child in. If your child is old enough to get in the doors by themselves, notify us the same way and we can help them sign in.
If you are picking up early - you can sign your child out in the lobby. We can make sure your child is here waiting or call for them if need be. Please remember to park in the parking lot and come into the OES Lobby. Please do not park in the drop-off zone in front of school.

Family Nature Club
Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids, teens, and their families.
Explore the beauty of nature Wisconsin has to offer with other families as we visit parks, preserves, and trails in Washington, Ozaukee, and Milwaukee Counties. Through the year, a Riveredge Environmental Educator will facilitate different activities based on the site, weather, and seasons. We facilitate outdoor, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together. This could be insect identification, bird watching, sensory hikes, or games!
All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is led by Riveredge Nature Center Environmental Educators and the Riveredge Scientist in Residence at Northern Ozaukee School District.
Family Nature Clubs are always free to attend but donations are greatly appreciated!
