The Husky's Howl Week 4
September 22, 2024
Principal's Message
We are excited to share that next week kicks off a very special series of lessons leading up to our "Power Up with P.R.I.D.E." Fun Run, happening in just two weeks! Each day, our students will be diving into lessons that focus on building character and teamwork, aligning with our core values of Husky P.R.I.D.E.
Here’s what’s in store for the week:
- Monday: Be a Problem Solver. We’ll be starting with Bowser’s Castle, where students will work together to solve puzzles that teach the power of perseverance and collaboration.
- Tuesday: Be Respectful. Yoshi’s Island will help students understand how their words and actions impact others. We’ll focus on kindness, respect, and the importance of treating everyone with care.
- Wednesday: Have Integrity. Students will explore what it means to make good choices, even when no one is watching, and how honesty and responsibility build trust.
- Thursday: Be Inclusive. Through fun and interactive activities in Princess Peach’s Castle, students will learn how to include others, celebrate differences, and create a welcoming environment for everyone.
- Friday: Be Determined. The week will end on a high note with an emphasis on determination—working hard and staying focused, no matter the obstacles.
Each lesson will "unlock" a new level of character development, just like in a video game, and get our students one step closer to the big Fun Run event!
We encourage you to ask your child about these daily activities and have them share what they’ve learned. It’s a great way to reinforce these values at home and get students excited for race day!
A Special Thank you to Nikki Bengry, Erin Mitchell and the Hill PTO for creating such an engaging week of learning for our Huskies!

Table Talk: Spark Meaningful School Conversations
We know that asking "How was school?" often leads to short responses like "fine," "good," or "I don't know." Try these conversation starters to dig deeper and learn more about your child's day:
- What was the most interesting thing you learned today?
- Did you try something new at recess or in class?
- Tell me about a moment today when you felt proud.
- Was there a part of your day that felt challenging?
- Who did you spend time with at lunch or recess, and what did you talk about?
