Message From Principal Kinney
The final countdown until Winter Break is just days ahead. During the holiday break, our students and our staff get to enjoy a well deserved break. The front office will be open on a limited basis. Please don't hesitate to call the office, or email us if you need anything. While our response may not be immediate, we will get back to you sooner than later. Below are a few key points that I want to call attention to.
1. WAVM Telethon- see flyer below. This started last night!
2. Report Cards: Report cards were published yesterday in ASPEN. You should receive an email letting you know that your student's report card is available.
3. LAST CALL: Last year, I asked each family to create a Google Slide to showcase how their family celebrates the holidays. For example, my mother, now in her mid-70s, has always ensured that our family wears matching pajamas during the holiday season (in my case, for Christmas). This tradition continues today, as my mother, my wife, and my sister make sure our family of nine has matching pajamas each year when we all gather together. It drives me a little crazy, but it’s also pretty awesome!
I invite our Fowler families to share their holiday traditions with me by creating a Google slide. Your slide can be as simple or as complex as you would like. I have attached a link here to what we have so far as an example.
If you would like to participate, please create your slide and share it with me by the end of next week so I can incorporate your submission into the master slide presentation. It will be displayed on the front TV during the final week of school before the holiday break!
From Last Week:
Here is a newsletter from all of our Fowler Specialist. Link

COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Fuel Assistance
You and your family may be eligible for Fuel Assistance! Massachusetts has a home energy assistance program (HEAP) to help eligible households pay a portion of winter heating bills. If you are found eligible, not only will part of your heating bills be paid, but you will get lower rates from your energy suppliers. This program is entirely free and there are no application costs.
On January 12, 12:00-4:0, Maynard resident, Jennifer Rifkin Tyler, will be at the High School to assist families with the application process. While drop-ins are welcome, it may be beneficial to set up an appointment. If you are interested in making an appointment or even just learning more about the program, please feel free to contact Jennifer at jennifer.rifkin@gmail.com. All appointments and email inquiries will be entirely confidential.
You can also learn more about HEAP at:

Food Pantry
The Maynard Food Pantry is open every Monday unless it is a holiday. Maynard residents are welcome to shop 2x a month (out-of-town residents are asked to keep it to 1x a month).
