Cambridge Student to serve as Georgia State SkillsUSA President
Cambridge SkillsUSA chapter was recognized at the State Leadership Conference this past February, where Shakshi Bhimani, our current Chapter President, was chosen as one of the five SkillsUSA members voted onto the Georgia State leadership Team. All five state leadership team members met this past weekend for their initial training and team-building experience. During this state leadership training, Shakshi was chosen by her peers as the next President of the Georgia State SkillsUSA Leadership Team. Shakshi will bring her Leadership skills to the state team as she represents all SkillsUSA members throughout Georgia. Congratulations Shakshi Bhiman!

Important Senior Updates
Senior Checkout
As part of the Senior Checkout, all seniors need to complete the following before May 1:
- Complete the Senior Checkout and Final Transcript Form and submit it to Bridge West.
- Attached proof of college acceptance
- Attached all scholarship offers (letters/emails), if applicable
- Complete the Senior Exit Survey in Naviance by logging into Classlink and selecting Naviance. The Senior Exit Survey - 2024 can be found under "Tasks from your School."
Note that seniors must complete these two action items to receive graduation tickets, scheduled to be distributed at the May 15 Graduation Rehearsal. Ticket packages will be held for all seniors failing to complete these tasks.

Property Collection
All school property assigned to seniors must be returned by Wednesday, May 15, 2024, to ensure students will receive their graduation tickets at rehearsal.
- School devices, library books, and calculators must be brought to the Media Center.
- Textbooks should be returned to the teacher who assigned them.
- Fines for lost property must be paid through Online School Payments, https://bit.ly/cambridgeosp.
If you have any questions about textbooks, please see Mrs. Ellison in Bridge East, ellisond2@fultonschools.org. For all other questions, please direct to Mrs. Morgan in the Media Center, morganl1@fultonschools.org.
Note that seniors must return all school property and clear all fines to receive graduation tickets scheduled to be distributed at the May 15 Graduation Rehearsal. Ticket packages will be held for all seniors failing to return school property.
Graduation Package Delivery
Seniors who did not pick up their graduation package can do so in Bridge East. Seniors will need their Grad. ID to pick up their package. It is important that seniors examine the package's contents to ensure all items are there and ordered correctly.
Contents:
- Gown (ensure you ordered the correct size, which is based on height)
- Cap
- 2024 tassel
- Cambridge stole.

HOPE/Zell Miller Deadline
The last day for applying for HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship is Graduation Day, May 23, 2024. Seniors should either fill out the FAFSA form at the Federal Student Aid site or by completing the GSFAPPS application through www.gafutures.org. We suggest filling out the GSFAPP application regardless of FAFSA completion due to issues that are being encountered with FAFSA.
2023-2024 CAA Scholarship
The Cambridge Athletic Association (“CAA”) is very pleased to announce its 8th Annual College Scholarship program for the Class of 2024. This year, the CAA will offer one $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship is made possible by the generous contributions of CAA Members and Sponsors. It is designed to recognize outstanding CHS senior student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and character on the playing field, in the classroom, and in the school and/or community.

Rising Seniors
Rising Senior and Parent Meeting
Mark your calendars for the upcoming rising senior and parent/guardian meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Cambridge Theater and will include all the information that seniors and their families need to know for the Class of 2025.
Academics
Fall and Spring Virtual Class Registration - Now Open!
Students who submitted the Online Course Request Form for fall and/or spring should now register for their classes.
- FVS online classes for both terms are registered through VECTOR. For more information about FVS registration, including instructions (Helpful Links) on how to register, visit Fulton Virtual.
- Georgia Virtual classes, visit Georgia Virtual registration.
ACT Scores
For students who took the ACT here at Cambridge, the scores are in. Scores can be found by logging into the student's ACT account, or students can pick up a hard copy in Bridge West. Students having questions about their scores should refer to ACT Test Scores.
End of Course (EOC) Exam Schedule
Student Devices
Please ensure your student's FCS-issued device is ready for the EOCs. Please ask the following:
- Is your device working? (keyboard, battery, screen, etc. – all the things they need for testing)
- Turn on any school devices, let updates run, and check that the device is operational.
- Do all devices have the DRC Insight app? Will it open? If not, download it manually!
- Submit FCS device concerns using the form here: https://forms.office.com/r/hxt9gigPXP
Schedule
End of course exams for Algebra, American Lit, Biology, and US History will take place April 22, 24, 25, and 26, 2024 - Tuesday is a regular school day. Options for non-test takers and the bell schedule for that week can be found in the EOC Schedule and below.
Options for Non-Exam Takers
*On the day(s) a student is not scheduled for EOC testing, the parent may choose from one of the following options:
1. Students can attend the full day of school and participate in a supervised study hall with teacher help in the cafeteria during the morning testing window.
Note: Students who are failing classes at the 12-week progress report or are not on track for graduation are required to choose this option.
2. Students can study from home during the morning testing window and report to school at the time listed on the bell schedule below.
Note: The parent must provide transportation to school for their child if they choose this option, as buses will run their regular scheduled routes.
AP Exam Information
Today is the last day for students to add an AP exam for a class they are currently taking. The exam will only be ordered after the $40 late fee has been paid. AP Late Fee Payment Link
AP Exams are May 6 - 17

- If a student does not show up for the exam, there will be a $40 No Show Fee.
- If fees are not paid, graduation tickets and diplomas will be held for Seniors. For underclassmen, fees carry over to the next school year. All fees must be paid to receive graduation tickets and diplomas.
- If a student has two exams on the same day and same time, they may take one exam during the late window. This form must be completed in order to get a late exam - 2023-24 Late AP Exam Request.
- If a student misses the AP exam due to illness, a doctor's note must be turned in before a late exam will be ordered - this form will then need to be completed - 2023-24 Late AP Exam Request.
- Students must be on time on the day of their exams. Morning sign-ins will be from 8:00-8:30 am. Afternoon sign-ins will be 11:30-12:00 pm. Exams will start promptly after sign-in. Students will not be allowed to test if they miss sign-in, and they will be required to pay the $40 No no-show fee.
- Students should bring their own materials - pens, pencils, calculators, etc. We cannot guarantee we will have supplies available for them. This is the link to the approved calculators allowed during AP Exams.

- Snacks may be brought in but will not be allowed at testing desks.
- Students may not leave testing early. They must stay for the entire testing period by College Board rule.
- Small group testers will be emailed the room to report to prior to their testing day.
- Signage will be posted to let testers know where they will be testing on the day of the exam.
- Students who take an AP exam will be excused for the school day. We will use the AP Exam sign-in sheets to change attendance. They do NOT need to bring a note to be dismissed. Students will be marked as School Activity for the day.

Student Device Collection
To help with your end-of-year planning, please expect students using school-issued devices to have them collected on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. We will be collecting devices throughout the day in students’ ELA classes. Students taking summer school or Fulton Virtual classes will be able to keep their devices until their classes are finished in July. The only other exception will be students who are failing classes and need their devices to complete recovery.
Final Week of Semester
All teachers will give an assessment on the final days of the semester:
- May 16 & 17 for seniors
- May 20 & 22 for all other students (May 21 will be asynchronous.)
- All Final assessments will have an in-person component. Final days Assessments will not be given early.

Summer Learning Registration
Face-to-Face and Fulton Virtual summer school registration is ongoing! New this year, students interested in taking summer courses through either Face-to-Face or Fulton Virtual will submit a registration form, and our counselors will register students for the class. (Do not register yourself) The registration form can be found at www.cambridgehs.org > Academics > Summer Learning and at Bridge West.

2024-2025 Rising 11th Grade Immunization Requirements
For the 2024-2025 school year, all 11th-grade students must have an updated GA 3231 immunization certificate on file to remain active at Cambridge High School. Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants) must have received one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.

Presidential Inauguration Student Trip
Travel to Washington, DC this January to be a witness to the 60th inauguration ceremony marking the start of a new 4-year term of the President of the United States. Flying to DC on January 16 and retuning January 22, 2025, we will spend five full days visiting the sights of our nation’s capital city learning about our history, civics, and current events before bearing witness to the swearing in of the President of the United States on January 20, 2025. Dates: Thursday, January 16, 2025, through Wednesday, January 22, 2025
Price: $2,950 per student (including transportation). Parents may attend as well for an additional fee

Graduation Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to assist with our Class of 2024 graduation ceremony. Our goal is to make our graduation ceremony a memorable event for our graduates and families, and we cannot do it without the help of our volunteers.
Our ceremony is at Ameris Bank Amphitheater on Thursday, May 23, at 2:00 pm. We will need your assistance from approximately 12:00 or 12:30 pm until the end of the ceremony. As we get closer to the event, you will receive email instructions on where to park, where to enter, your time of arrival, and to whom you will report.
Spring Cleaning?
Cambridge Band is holding a clothing drive Aprils 22 - 27.
Three bins located near the gym will be coming soon! There will be students ready at morning drop off to help you unload your donations that week. Please bag your clothes, shoes, household linens (sheets, blankets, tablecloths, towels, napkins and placemats) hats, bags, belts and purses in a plastic bag. NO housewares, books or furniture can be collected.

Did you know?
- Professional pilots do not need to have perfect and uncorrected vision.
- The military is not the only – or even the preferred – route anymore.
- Straight As in math and science are not required.
- Aviation is not just a STEM career; pilots come from LAS, creative and performing arts backgrounds as well.
- A 4-year degree is not required.
On Friday, April 26 at 2:00 pm, FAPA (Future & Active Pilot Advisors) will be holding our monthly Future Pilot Seminar at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, downtown Atlanta. This is a free event for anyone interested in or even curious about becoming a pilot. This event is open to future pilots of all ages, parents and mentors, career counselors and staff, or anyone that is looking for information on a professional cockpit career.
