Principal's Message
Greeting families,
I want to begin this week's message by expressing my most sincere apologies for the stress that the situation with our before and after-school provider may have caused the families that are counting on it. I understand how important it is to have a safe place for our children as we perform the duties of our jobs. I was informed of this situation not long before you received the information, but, as the school principal, I assume full responsibility. I have been brainstorming possible solutions, and I will keep you posted during the week. Please fill out the form under parent resources so I can plan accordingly.
On a positive note, the classrooms' furniture was installed this weekend, and we are just waiting for the final permit to enter the building, which we expect early this week. We will begin classes on August 15th, 2022.
Also, I would like to celebrate the opportunity that my staff and I had to visit the UTSW sim center so that they can visualize how to leverage the tools provided to expose our students to biomedical sciences. In addition, we were fortunate to facilitate my staff's professional development on Friday in another UTSW location offered by our SBDM chair, Dr. A. Hardin, and vice-chair, Mr. A. Kramer. My team and I are beyond grateful for this opportunity and the hospitality.
I understand you are anxious to know all the logistics details for the upcoming week. The arrival and dismissal plan is being modified due to the buses taking the parking lot lane. Once they arrive, we do not have room for drop-off in the parking lot. I included some pictures to see how the parking lot looks when they come. We may need to ask you to park around the building and walk to campus. I will release the draft on Monday by the end of the day. Please expect delays in the first couple of days as the plans solidify and we get to know you and your children.
It was also brought to my attention by some parents that they order uniforms and that they will not be ready before the first day of school. Therefore, if possible, wear the school colors, but all students are welcome on campus without uniforms until they are delivered to you.
Last, I included virtual office hours during the week so you can ask me any questions you may have. If none of those times work for you, please email me your phone number, and I will contact you at your earliest convenience.
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate and ask. I will send another email during the week if I get updates.
Thanks for choosing us!
Kind Regards,
Roberto Gonzalez

Update
Thanks for all the families that have shown interest on the Dual Language. This is the latest information I got from the district:
"We are in the process of finalizing our Dual Language master plan which is a document that details our Dual Language programs, as well as specific information about the Dual Language 2.0 rollout. Once it has been approved and is published, we will be sure and share that with you."
Also, the process of selection could take up to the week before the school begins but for sure it would be before the meet the teacher night. Thanks in advance for your patience as we ensure we have the most accurate data to comply with all state regulations.
2 way Dual Language program begins in Kinder. The school will begin contacting parents this week regarding the possibility of being part of the dual language kinder and first grade classroom.
