Principal Message
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Greetings to you all.
Welcome back to term 4, it is great to see everyone return looking recharged ready for the final term in the 2023 school year. We have an exciting programme lined up for students and look forward to lots of opportunities to involve you in these. Please ensure you monitor Seesaw weekly for details of upcoming events.
I was impressed to see most children wearing hats this week, thank you for your support with this. Please recheck all uniform items are named as the lost property pile is substantial! The swimming pool will be open for class swimming from Tuesday 24 October.
Coming up next week:
Monday - Refurbishment of room 3 and 4 commence.
Tuesday - School Athletics Day (Details below)
Thursday - Taiopenga (Regional Kapa Haka Competition at Marlborough Girls College)
Friday - School Disco (Y0-3: 5.15-6.45pm, Y4-6: 7.00-8.30pm)
The Ministry has completed a Network Review of all local schools to ensure optimal utilisation of our existing capacity. As a result of this process, the Witherlea School ‘home zone’ will extend to Hospital Road effective from January 1st 2024 subject to the board ratifying this amendment at their next meeting. Please refer to the revised map and description for details of the changes. To help our planning, please encourage anyone considering enrollment for 2024 to contact the office as soon as possible.
Next week account statements will be issued and we would really appreciate these being settled by the end of term. We appreciate your continued support with these payments which enable us to offer the programmes and opportunities available at Witherlea.
Every school is required to consult the community about the delivery of the Health Curriculum biennially. We would appreciate capturing your thoughts and aspirations in this quick survey to inform our review process.
As always please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions, concerns, or even positive comments!
Ngā manaakitanga,
Symon Beattie
