Tiger News
We have had another short, but great week with your children!
A note from Mrs. Payne:
As we wrap up our current Social Studies unit on the Origins of Civilization, I am excited to share that our students will be creating dioramas representing a Neolithic village. This hands-on project will allow students to apply what they've learned in class, working in groups of 3 to 4 to bring their understanding to life.
Students will conduct research and use their notes from each section of our unit to guide their diorama creation. This project will be completed during class time, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to collaborate and participate fully.
We have already requested some donations for materials, but if you would like to contribute additional supplies, your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Every bit helps in making our end-of-unit project a success! I have included an example picture for reference.
A note from the Music Room:
6th Grade Band is beginning soon! Students participated in instrument testing this last week during their music class. A letter will come home with them Tuesday with information regarding 6th Grade Band, when it happens, how to join, and where to get instruments. Please let Mr. Hall know if you have any questions - ahall@usd207.org
As a team, we have implemented an IXL challenge for the students. As they successfully master skills on IXL, they are keeping track of them on a recording sheet. For every 25 skills mastered, students have the opportunity to choose a prize from the IXL Prize Bin in their homeroom. Each classroom has some prizes in their bin already, but we could really use some help to add to the rewards. If you would be willing to contribute some prizes, it would be greatly appreciated.
Suggested prizes: candy, small trinkets and fidgets, special pens and pencils, stickers, stress balls, etc
