¿Por qué eso importa?
Las enfermedades cardíacas son la principal causa de muerte en Estados Unidos y se pueden prevenir en un 80%. Queremos capacitar a las familias para que se hagan cargo de la salud de su corazón.
Why does it matter?
Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in America and is 80% preventable. We want to empower families to take charge of their heart health.

Proper Footwear for P.E.
Gator families,
Your child's safety remains a top priority at Glen Loch throughout the school day. Proper footwear is essential for physical activity. Shoes like flip-flops, open-toed shoes, crocs (even in sports mode), sandals, boots and high heels used for physical activity could result in injuries due to the foot being allowed to move excessively in the shoe or come out of the shoe.
Students can absolutely bring a pair of tennis shoes to change into for P.E. and/or recess.
Thank you so much for helping us keep your Gators safe and healthy!

Clinic
Flu Season
As we come into the cold and flu season, remembering these simple tips to teach and share with your children can help prevent the spread of illnesses.
● Cover your cough and sneeze
● Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
● Wash your hands frequently
● Stay home when you are sick
● Get the flu vaccine
As a reminder, per CISD policy, students should be diarrhea, vomit, and fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. Please contact the clinic with any questions.
Attendance Matters!
Did You Know?
- Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause a child to fall behind in school.
- Missing 10% or about 2 days of school each month over the course of a school year can make it harder to learn to read.
- Students can still fall behind if they miss one or two days every few weeks.
- Being late to school or leaving school early lead to poor attendance.
- Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

Human Trafficking Prevention Month
As a reminder, January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. TEA encourages us to share information and resources to increase awareness in our schools and communities. Each school shall post warning signs at conspicuous places reasonably likely to be viewed by all persons entering the premises (TAC 61.1053 (b)). Examples could be placing the poster in the entryway or front office where many people can see it. Many campuses may already have a poster, if not the links below have three sample signs that may be used.

We LOVE Our Volunteers!
We truly appreciate the spirit and dedication of our volunteers! Your willingness to contribute your time and skills creates a positive impact that resonates throughout our entire school community. Volunteering offers a unique opportunity to make a difference, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain new experiences in a supportive environment. Whether you're looking to lend a hand in organizing events, support our classrooms and teachers, or share your expertise in a specific area, your contribution will be invaluable.
If you're inspired to contribute and be a part of our school community on another level, we would love to have you on board! The first step to volunteer is to go through the CISD volunteer check by clicking here. This check is good for one school year and must be done in July for the upcoming school year. You can keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities in the Fall! Let's work together to create a positive impact and strengthen our school community.

NEW Arrival Procedure for Car Line
***New Traffic Flow Procedure Effective: Wednesday, November 6th***
To address the current traffic congestion during morning arrival times, we have implemented a new procedure designed to streamline vehicle movement and reduce delays. Our primary concern is the issue of vehicles turning right into the car rider line and not allowing left-turn traffic to merge, resulting in a traffic bottleneck. We no longer will allow left hand turns into the school from vehicles coming from the Tanglebrush side. This is similar to our afternoon car rider line procedure.
Just a few tips:
- When entering, you will enter through the Glen Loch driveway, not the church driveway. We have students that walk in the morning and it is not safe to have you loop around like we do in the afternoons.
- When exiting, buses have specific routes they have to drive, so they may take a left hand turn. All other vehicles will need to take a right hand turn out of Glen Loch onto Glen Loch Drive.
- When cutting through neighborhoods, please be sure to be respectful and adhere to the posted speed limit signs. This is for the safety of those children who walk to or from school and all other families..
- Be courteous to fellow drivers and allow smooth merging where necessary.
By following these guidelines, we hope to create a more pleasant and efficient morning routine for everyone. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us improve traffic flow and ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
Thank you for your continued support!
Mrs. Smith
