Parent Teacher Conferences are an important part of the educational process. Meeting with your child's teachers can highlight academic growth and determine areas for improvement. Teachers welcome communication at any time during the school year, and conferences offer specific opportunities to discuss your child's progress.

Winter Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday, February 6 and Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Visit Pickatime to schedule your conferences today.

The 2020 - 2021 Student Course Selection & Registration process began on January 21, 2020. A step-by-step timeline has been created to help students and parents navigate through the process. The registration window closes Friday, January 31, 2020.

New Albany High School’s student-led Mental Health Club has joined Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) this school year. BC2M is a nonprofit organization, founded by Glenn Close, dedicated to encouraging dialogue about mental health, and to raise awareness, understanding, and empathy. The BC2M High School Program is an evidence-based club that encourages teens to learn and explore mental health topics in a safe and supportive environment and to tackle stigmas head on in order to create a more educated and empathetic school community. BC2M provides tools, resources, and grant money to assist our club and will also host a Leadership Meetup for the Ohio BC2M clubs at Abercrombie & Fitch Headquarters on February 8th. This year, 17 New Albany High School students had their work juried into the prestigious Scholastic Art competition. In total they received 16 Honorable Mention Awards, 3 Silver Key Awards and 3 Gold Key Awards.

The NHS Tutoring Center is back starting this week.

Not satisfied with first semester grades? Need help on an upcoming test? The NHS Tutoring Center is offering FREE tutoring! The center will be open, in the Lower Library on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 7:15-7:55 a.m. and in the Jefferson Room on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 p.m., provided we have school.

New Albany Middle and High School have added an additional support to our schools to help students when they are feeling overwhelmed or frustrated. As part of our district’s continued partnership with Concord Counseling Services, Lisa Finck, MA LPC is our new Student Support Clinician. New Albany High School will hold our second annual Wellness Weekend for all students over President's weekend, February 15-18, 2020. This is a weekend of no homework, no projects, no papers, and no activities to help everyone relax and reset in the middle of the second quarter.

Learn how to earn college credits! On January 30, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at Ohio Dominican University, families will be provided essential information regarding the state and district College Credit Plus programs.

Families of seniors, please visit Senior Central on the school website to get important information and details regarding the class of 2020 including graduation, service learning, senior portraits, school fees and more.

It is never too early to order the memories that will be with you for a lifetime. Although the year is new, make sure you have all of the memories that are part of the 2019-2020 school year simply by purchasing a 2020 yearbook that is currently in production. Sales are open now until May 1, 2020. To have a name stamped on the book cover, order no later than 30 April, 2020. Prices are as follows:

$75.00 until December 1

$80.00 after December 1 – until sales end May 1, 2020.

Teacher Grants – We have awarded 16 teacher grants so far this school year totaling almost $4,500. Please contact us if you have an idea to improve learning or make it more fun for our students.

Winter Formal “Coat Check” – When you have over 800 students in a high school gym, keeping track of cell phones and shoes can be a challenge! The PTO provides a “coat check” service (actually for cell phones, keys, and shoes) and we need your help! Please sign up here to volunteer during the dance. We will be back in the wrestling room, so just let your student know you will be unable to embarrass them in any way!

Teacher Dinner Before Conferences – The PTO will be providing dinner for our teachers from Chi Thai before next Thursday’s parent-teacher conferences. Please sign-up here to bring fruit or Keurig pods.
