Trimester 2 Schedules

Trimester 2 begins on Monday, November 25th. Schedules will be available for students and families to view in Infinite Campus the afternoon of Friday, November 15th.

SJMS Schedule Changes:

School counselors are available to make academic adjustments if there is an error in a schedule (see the reasons below). Note: There should be very few schedule changes necessary as students request the courses they wish to take. Some student requests cannot be accommodated due to schedule conflicts.

Schedule changes will be made for the following reasons:

Academic misplacement -- student is placed in the wrong level of class
Program change -- student is changing enrollment in a specific course like choir, band, orchestra.
Missing academic class -- student is missing a core class, English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, or Science.
Missing grade level expectation
To balance classes

Schedules will not be changed for the following reasons:

To have classes with friends
Student does not like the teacher
Parent does not like the teacher
The class or classwork is perceived by the student to be too difficult or too easy
Personality conflicts with another student

Requesting to Talk with the School Counselor

All students have access to request to talk with a school counselor on their school-issued chromebooks (it opens up as its own tab, and all classes should have the request form in their Google Classrooms as well). The form can also be found here: https://bit.ly/3HTVQTM

Bus Passes

Please make sure to email the attendance office (msattendance@sjredwings.org) if your child is riding the bus home with another student. We need notes from BOTH the sending parent and the receiving parent in order to issue a bus pass. Requests for bus passes must be received before 1:45 p.m. each day. Thank you!

When to Stay Home? Illness Guidelines Chart

How sick is too sick to be at school? Please see the chart below for information from the health department. Colds and sniffles are common and typically do not require a student to stay home from school. Thanks for keeping your child home when they need to and getting them to school when they don't. Attendance matters!

Lost and Found

The lost and found is growing! Please have your child check the lost and found outside the front office if they are missing clothing or other personal items. All of the lost and found items will be donated on Friday, November 22, 2024.
