Acadience Reading Testing
Students take the Acadience Reading assessment three times a year: fall, winter, and spring. This year, the winter testing will take place during the week of January 13th.
Acadience is a formative assessment tool used to track the progress of students in grades K-3, focusing on essential early literacy skills. It provides valuable data on areas such as phonemic awareness, letter-sound knowledge, oral reading fluency, and comprehension. Teachers use this information to identify students who may need extra support, monitor their growth, and adjust instruction to meet their needs. The aim is to help all students build strong reading foundations.
Test results will be shared with families during conferences at the end of February. Thank you for ensuring your child is well-rested and arrives at school on time each day!

Worry Boxes
In Life Skills this year, students will be making Worry Boxes. These are a tool for students to use when they have a worry occupying space in their mind. Students will have an opportunity to decorate empty tissue boxes to transform them to Worry Boxes. However, Mrs. R needs help collecting empty tissue boxes for the project. So, if you have an empty tissue box of any size, please send them in with your student. Thank you! Also, if you have any craft supplies you aren't using that we could use to decorate these boxes, we would greatly appreciate it!
