A Note from the Principal
Thank you to all who came to our Lights On event Wednesday night - it was exciting to see our soon-to-be 5th grade Whitman students, and I look forward to seeing them thrive here as middle school students. One of the ways in which students find success at Whitman is through consistent attendance, and we were thrilled that 419 students received Bucks certificates for the December Bucks Attendance Challenge - 95% or above for the month of December. Our amazing student services team also holds "spin the wheel" drawings for students with excellence attendance, where they can win gift cards to their favorite spots. We appreciate all you do to ensure regular student attendance, and we are here to support you when students are under the weather.
Warm regards,
Sarah Dianich, Proud Whitman Principal
What learning looks like at Whitman:

Headphones in the Classroom
Despite what students might say, headphones/earbuds are not an appropriate fashion accessory in a school or professional setting. As such, students will be instructed to put them away while in class and they should remain away unless students have been given the instruction to use them for essential and educational purposes. Refusal to follow this expectation will result in a referral for a Technology Violation and consequences will be be determined in accordance with our district's Disciplinary Framework.

Opportunities Around Town
Tosa East Theatre is proud to present our first mainstage production of the year - Radium Girls. The show tells the story of the radium dial painters of the early 20th century and their fight for justice in the face of certain death. It is a powerful piece that the students are excited to perform.

Some notes about the production:
Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each performance
There will be a 15 minute intermission between acts

If you have not already heard… Wauwatosa West High School’s Culinary Program was officially chosen as 1 of 3 schools in the entire state (and the only school chosen that is not already local to the event) to be hand selected to HELP RUN THE NFL DRAFT APRIL 23RD IN GREEN BAY!
Wisconsin Prostart feels our students are some of the best to represent their program and exemplify what they think of when they think of a Wisconsin Prostart student. I am so incredibly proud of my amazing and talented students! I selected 7 students based on being part of the Prostart Competitive Culinary Team / super involved in the Prostart Culinary Club.
With that being said, we are asking for your support in helping us cover travel / hotel expenses to get us to the draft, as well as supporting our Prostart Culinary & Management Competition Teams as they take on over 15 other teams from around the state in a huge competition this March. Any help and support you can send our way, we would be extremely appreciative! Attached is a flyer containing simple steps on how to donate and support our program.
Thank you for considering supporting our program, we are SO excited to represent our great school and district on a state and national level!
Sincerely, Carly Joseph
