Hello West Fork High School Families,

The second semester is here and we are off to a great start. Report cards for first semester are posted in Skyward under portfolio. Transcripts for first semester are coming soon, we expect these to be ready by the second week in February (maybe sooner).

West Fork High School campus administration and counselors met with all students on January 25, 2024 to review expectations for behavior, review information for credits and graduation requirements. Should you have question about your childs progress in a class, please reach out to your child's teacher. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.

The PSAT test will be administered to 10th grade students on Thursday, March 28th. Please save the date and ensure your student will be at school, as we are unable to offer a make-up administration of this exam.

We kindly request that drivers refrain from pulling into the visitor parking area to drop off or pick up students. The designated area for pick up and drop off are the two lanes located directly in front of the school. Please use the visitor parking area only for its intended purpose .

New Caney ISD is working to read a million minutes by April! We are encouraging all students to read for at least twenty minutes a day. Studies show that students who read for 20 minutes a day are exposed to 1,800,000 words a year!

Students should log their minutes in Beanstack, our district reading competition app. For help logging minutes, students can stop by the library media center.

West Fork High School staff is available to provide help before school or after school each day. Teachers are available on the designated days.

Food deliveries will not be accepted from anyone that is NOT listed as a guardian or emergency contact in Skyward.

Food delivery services (Doordash, Favor, UberEats, etc) are not permitted during school hours, between 6:45am - 2:50 pm.

Mrs. Smith received the CREST(Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) Award for her counseling program during the 2022-2023 school year. This award recognizes outstanding comprehensive school counseling programs. Way to go Mrs. Smith!

The mindset of the month for January is "Attitude of Gratitude" The Attitude of Gratitude Mindset teaches us the importance of seeking the positives from every experience and being thankful for all that we have. Through this mindset, we learn that we can use the positives or the negatives of our lives as the foundation on which to build. Choose the positives, and we are on our way toward extraordinary success; choose the negatives, and we embark on path toward disappointment, resentment, and suffering. In these lessons, we guide students to focus on all the things they have, leaving no time to be distracted by what they don’t.

Guidance Lesson Schedule:

January 22-23: Empathy Lesson with 9th grade students during social studies classes

January 24-25: Healthy Relationship Lesson with 10th grade students during social studies classes

January 29-30: One on One meetings with 9th grade students during social studies classes.

January 31-February 1 : One on One meetings with 10th grade students during social studies classes.

February 12-13: Reading a Transcript Lesson with 9th grade students during social studies classes

Each February, young adults and their loved ones nationwide raise awareness about teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. This annual, month-long effort focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.
