Center Viking Youth Club (CVYC) - February Newsletter
As we step into February, let's take a moment to reflect on the fantastic start to 2025 at CVYC! January was filled with excitement, learning, and community engagement. Our daily programming kept members active and engaged, with Positive Action on Mondays, Art on Tuesdays, STEM on Wednesdays, Pokémon and Chess Club on Thursdays, and Special Activities on Fridays.
January also brought some memorable events. On January 17, we had a blast ice skating at the Alamosa Rec Center! The kids bundled up, laced up their skates, and glided across the ice, making unforgettable winter memories. Later in the month, on January 23, our early release day allowed students extra time to participate in club activities, making for an afternoon packed with fun. We closed out January by cheering on our Viking wrestlers at the Valley Classic Wrestling Tournament on January 31, showing our school spirit and support for our athletes.
Now, as we enter February, get ready for another month of fun, creativity, and learning at CVYC! Our daily programming remains the same, with one small change—Thursdays will now feature Pokémon Club and Board Games, offering a mix of strategy, skill, and friendly competition.

February is here, and with it comes a month packed with love, laughter, and unforgettable experiences at CVYC! As we shake off the winter chill, we’re gearing up for a calendar full of exciting activities, creative projects, and community engagement. Whether it’s spreading kindness with our Valentine’s card deliveries, enjoying a cozy movie day, or diving into our daily programs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Get ready to make new memories, try new things, and celebrate all that makes CVYC such a special place!
Mark Your Calendars!
February 7 – Students will craft heartfelt Valentine’s Day cards and personally deliver them to the Veterans at the Home Lake Veterans Home. This is a wonderful opportunity to show appreciation for those who have served our country.
February 14 – It’s time to celebrate Valentine’s Day! We’ll be decorating Valentine’s cards and cookies, spreading love and joy within our club community.
February 17 – CVYC will be closed in observance of Presidents’ Day. Enjoy the day off, and we’ll see you back on Tuesday for more activities!
February 21 – We’ll be heading to the Cozy Castle Movie Theater in Saguache for a fun movie day. Stay tuned for more details on the film and departure times!
February 27 – Early release from school means CVYC activities will begin at 1:00 PM. We will remain open for normal business hours, so come enjoy an extended day of fun and learning!
February 28 – CVYC will be closed for staff training and a Staff Appreciation Day. Please take note of this closure.
February is sure to be another incredible month at CVYC, filled with engaging programs, special events, and opportunities to give back. Centro Juvenil Viking (CVYC) - Boletín de Febrero
Al entrar en febrero, tomemos un momento para reflexionar sobre el fantástico comienzo de 2025 en CVYC. ¡Enero estuvo lleno de emoción, aprendizaje y participación comunitaria! Nuestra programación diaria mantuvo a los miembros activos y comprometidos, con Acción Positiva los lunes, Arte los martes, STEM los miércoles, Club de Pokémon y Ajedrez los jueves, y Actividades Especiales los viernes.
Enero también nos trajo eventos memorables. El 17 de enero, nos divertimos mucho patinando sobre hielo en el Alamosa Rec Center. ¡Los niños se abrigaron, se pusieron los patines y se deslizaron sobre el hielo, creando recuerdos inolvidables de invierno! Más adelante en el mes, el 23 de enero, nuestro día de salida temprana permitió a los estudiantes más tiempo para participar en actividades del club, haciendo de esa tarde un momento lleno de diversión. Cerramos enero animando a nuestros luchadores vikingos en el Torneo de Lucha Valley Classic el 31 de enero, mostrando nuestro espíritu escolar y apoyo a los atletas.
Ahora, al entrar en febrero, ¡prepárense para otro mes de diversión, creatividad y aprendizaje en CVYC! Nuestra programación diaria sigue siendo la misma, con un pequeño cambio: los jueves ahora incluirán el Club de Pokémon y Juegos de Mesa, ofreciendo una combinación de estrategia, habilidad y competencia amistosa.

¡Febrero ha llegado, y con él un mes lleno de amor, risas y experiencias inolvidables en CVYC! Mientras dejamos atrás el frío invernal, nos preparamos para un calendario lleno de actividades emocionantes, proyectos creativos y participación comunitaria. Ya sea compartiendo amabilidad con nuestras tarjetas de San Valentín, disfrutando de un día de cine acogedor o participando en nuestros programas diarios, ¡hay algo para todos! Prepárense para crear nuevos recuerdos, probar cosas nuevas y celebrar todo lo que hace de CVYC un lugar tan especial.

7 de febrero – Los estudiantes elaborarán tarjetas de San Valentín con mucho cariño y las entregarán personalmente a los Veteranos en el Hogar de Veteranos de Home Lake. Esta es una maravillosa oportunidad para mostrar aprecio a quienes han servido a nuestro país.
14 de febrero – ¡Es hora de celebrar el Día de San Valentín! Decoraremos tarjetas y galletas de San Valentín, compartiendo amor y alegría dentro de nuestra comunidad del club.
17 de febrero – CVYC estará cerrado en observancia del Día de los Presidentes. Disfruten del día libre y nos veremos el martes para más actividades.
21 de febrero – Nos dirigiremos al Cozy Castle Movie Theater en Saguache para un divertido día de cine. ¡Estén atentos para más detalles sobre la película y los horarios de salida!
27 de febrero – La salida temprana de la escuela significa que las actividades de CVYC comenzarán a la 1:00 PM. Permaneceremos abiertos durante nuestro horario normal, así que vengan a disfrutar de un día extendido de diversión y aprendizaje.
28 de febrero – CVYC estará cerrado para la capacitación del personal y un Día de Apreciación del Personal. Por favor, tomen nota de este cierre.
