Principal's Message
We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! Last week, we held our second meeting for the Latino Family Literacy Project, and parents are loving the opportunity to learn about the importance of foundational literacy. If you missed the first two meetings, it's not too late to join! Our next session is this Thursday—details are enclosed.
Also, our first-ever Family Sweetheart Dance is coming up next week! If you'd like to help, reach out to Borchardt PTO at borchardtpto@gmail.com. If you plan to attend, be sure to grab your tickets in advance at the front office. We can't wait to celebrate with you! ❤️

Sweetheart Family Dance 2/28
Family Sweetheart Dance – Friday, February 28
Families, get ready for a night of fun at our Family Sweetheart Dance! Join us on Friday, February 28, for an evening of music, dancing, and a selfie booth!
- Food trucks will be on campus from 5:00-6:00 PM
- Dance will take place from 6:00-8:00 PM
- Dress fancy and be ready to bust a move! A calm room will be available for anyone needing a break from the music.
Presale tickets only! Limited tickets available for purchase in the office.$5 for one guardian and child, $1 for each additional child.
Children must attend with an adult. We can't wait to see you there! ❤️
Latino Family Literacy Project
Join other Borchardt families in a special reading program designed for parents! Through this program, you'll discover new books to enjoy with your children, connect with other parents, and create a meaningful family album.

Subway Fundraiser – Every Wednesday!
Cane's Fundraiser 2/26
Families, please join us at Raising Cane's at 2370 W. Kettleman Ln. Lodi, on Wednesday, February 26 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and mention the fundraiser at the reigster and Cane's will donate 15% of the Net Sales to Borchardt Elementary. Proceeds supporting this year and future 6th grade students going to Science Camp.
Read Across America Donations Request
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Our Read Across America Book Tasting is happening March 3rd - 7th, and we’d love to provide snacks for students as they “taste” new books!
If you can donate pre-packaged snacks or drinks, we’d appreciate it! Suggested items down below:
- Juice boxes, water, Capri suns
- Pretzels, crackers, goldfish
- Cookies

Lodi Middle School Incoming 7th Grade Parent Orientation Night
Lodi Middle School will be hosting a parent orientation night for those who have children in the 6th grade on February 27 at 6:00 pm. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Parking & Traffic Safety Reminder
As we settle into the second half of the school year, please remember that we are in a school zone and safety is our top priority. The speed limit is 25 mph when children are present, so please drive cautiously.
Our crossing guards are here to support students and families—let’s show them kindness and patience. If you're interested in helping out, we are always looking for additional support!

NorCal Science & Technology Festival (K-12)
We are excited to announce that the NorCal Science & Technology Festival will again be hosted at Lodi High School on February 22nd, 10am to 3:00pm. The festival is a student-organized, FREE one-day celebration of science and technology featuring STEAM career professionals, fun presentations, hands-on activities, and special exhibitions designed to entertain all ages. This event is student organized. Please encourage your students and their families to attend!
Attached are digital posters (English & Spanish) for posting in Google Classrooms, etc. Printed half sheet flyers will be delivered to all elementary schools for distribution home about a week or two prior to the event. We hope that you and your students will be able to attend!

The Bridge Program is now accepting registrations at select (5) Lodi USD school sites for their Spring Intersession Program. See below for more info!

Early Checking out of students
Parents: We're sending a gentle reminder that we are not able to accommodate checking out students within 10 minutes of the end of the school day. Please be patient with our teachers and office staff as the children are dismissed.
