When To Keep Your Child Home
Following are some guidelines for when to keep an ill child at home. Please remember that during
school, children are in close contact with each other. Keeping ill children home at the first signs of illness helps prevent the spread of that illness to other students and staff members.
* Keep children who are sick at home, especially if they have a fever above 100.4 F, are
experiencing diarrhea, vomiting and/or a severe cough.
* Please keep your child home when sick for at least 24 hours after he or she no longer has a
fever or signs of a fever (chills, feeling very warm, flushed appearance, or sweating) without the use of fever-reducing medications. A fever indicates that your child may be fighting an infection and may be contagious meaning that he or she can spread the infection to others, including
those already immunocompromised at risk, and may slow your child's restorative processes.
* Please keep your child at home until he or she is free from any type of gastrointestinal issue
such as vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
* If your child's cough is deep and uncontrollable, excessive which causes disruption to learning (even without a fever).
Middle School Boys Basketball Sign-up
We are excited to get the Middle School Boys Basketball season started.
We are asking all interested 7th and 8th grade boys to register. We understand that 8th grade numbers are a bit light but we plan on supplementing with 7th graders.
Practices will take place after school in the MS Gym with the first practice on 12/2. There will be no practices on Wednesdays. We have been very lucky with bus drivers, but I would like to collect names who could drive to away games if we run into a jam (this can be in your own vehicle or a school van). Please indicate below if you are able to drive and how many athletes you can fit in your vehicle. We usually depart at 2:45 or 3:00 for all away games.

Family Nature Club
Family Nature Club is a free offering to our community designed for kids, teens, and their families.
Explore the beauty of nature Wisconsin has to offer with other families as we visit parks, preserves, and trails in Washington, Ozaukee, and Milwaukee Counties. Through the year, a Riveredge Environmental Educator will facilitate different activities based on the site, weather, and seasons. We facilitate outdoor, environmental-education based experiences for families to enjoy together. This could be insect identification, bird watching, sensory hikes, or games!
All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is led by Riveredge Nature Center Environmental Educators and the Riveredge Scientist in Residence at Northern Ozaukee School District.
Family Nature Clubs are always free to attend but donations are greatly appreciated!
Please share our events via forwarding this email, our Facebook page, or Riveredge Website.
