LOOKING AHEAD...
FRIDAY FORECAST
With the projected snowfall expected to begin Friday, January 10th during the school day, we wanted to make parents aware of the possibility of an early dismissal. We are planning on a regular start time for Friday (no delay) and more than likely will not have bus service, so plan for private transportation. We will need to wait and see what KCSD determines.
While no final decision has been made at this time, we want to ensure that families have an opportunity to make adjustments to their schedules and their transportation plans if needed. We will continue to monitor weather conditions in order to make the safest decision for our students and staff.
If an early dismissal is called, we will communicate this to you promptly through our school’s all-call notification system (email, phone call, and text). Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date, your device is accessible, and that you have a plan in place for your child in the event of an early release.

CLUB FEES
The second round of clubs started this week. We still have many students that need to turn in their club fee ($5) from the 1st round. Please do so as soon as possible as we are in the 2nd trimester.
REGISTRATION 2025-26
ENROLLMENT - PLEASE READ
Registration for the 2025-26 school year will open to current families on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. As in years past, registration will be done online through Sycamore. Tuition Agreement Forms will be sent home in the Wednesday folder.
Several grade levels are at or near capacity this year! If you are a CURRENT family, you will need to register by Sunday, January 26 to secure your child(s) spot. Registration will open to the public during Open House and at that time enrollment will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis.
MISSING ITEMS WILL BE CONSIDERED INCOMPLETE AND WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
In order for an application to be accepted, all 3 steps must be completed below.
- Completed Sycamore Application (ID: 3298) (PK-8 Only)
- Tuition Agreement & Payment Selection Form (Pink Hard Copy)
- Registration Fee - $100 per student
INCOMING PK AND KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES: If your child attended preschool here at St. Cecilia for 2024-25 school year, you already have a Sycamore account set up, please contact the school office if you do not have your login information. Do NOT set up a new account!
*Registration for Daycare and Aftercare will need to be completed via paper registration that will come home in the Wednesday folder. Please contact the school office if you are unsure if you are missing any items in the registration process. Fees for aftercare and daycare are $25 per student.
CAFETERIA NEWS
CAFETERIA HELP NEEDED!!!
We really need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. Kitchen Help will assist the cafeteria with serving food. Cafe Monitor will assist students with opening items and cleaning tables.
You must be VIRTUS compliant. Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!

PTO UPDATES
PTO MEETINGS
Our next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30pm in the undercroft. Our next Stagette meeting will be directly after our PTO meeting January 14 in the undercroft!! All parents with students at St. Cecilia in grades Pre-k through 8 are welcome to attend!
STAGETTE
Save the Date for our annual Stagette, Saturday, March 15 at Receptions in Erlanger. We will be SELLING TICKETS after our January 14th meeting to PTO Members (You can become a PTO member at the meeting if you have a child in St. Cecilia school in grades Pre-k through 8 and you pay the $10 PTO membership fee) and again, to everyone on Friday, January 24 in the undercroft from 7:30-10am! (Tickets are limited to 20 per person after the January 14th meeting).
We are looking for items to raffle off! Please email the PTO if you can help donate anything! Each grade has been assigned a theme to bring in items for your grade basket. Please reach out to your room parent or email the PTO with any questions! pto@stcindependence.org
SWEETHEART DANCE
Save the Date!!! Our Sweetheart Dance will take place on Friday, February 21 in the Undercroft. More details on the event and how to purchase tickets will be in next week's email!

DINE TO DONATE
Our next Dine to Donate will be Tuesday, February 4, from 5pm to close at Barleycorns in BOTH the Florence location (8544 US Hwy 42) AND/OR the Lakeside Park location (2642 Dixie Highway)! Flyers will be sent home in the red family folders on Wednesday, January 29! Present the flyer or tell them you are there for the St. Cecilia Dine to Donate and our PTO will receive 10% back!

2025 SPRING SOCCER REGISTRATION IS OPEN
2025 Spring Soccer Registration is now OPEN for ALL age groups - U4 through U14
If your child would like to play soccer for St. Cecilia this Spring, please register them as soon as possible, as February/March will be here before we know it! You can register your child(ren) and to coach by clicking the link or QR code below:

Additional Info:
- If you are a first-time user, please create an account to register.
- You only need one account per family.
- If your child needs a new jersey (U8/U14 only), please register early to help ensure it comes in before the season starts. $40 cost for jersey and child keeps for future seasons.
- All U4/U6 players will receive a new team t-shirt at the start of each season.
- You will receive an email confirmation after your registration is completed.
- Once teams are finalized, you'll hear from your coach regarding game schedule and other team information.
- All players are organized onto teams based on their birth year in accordance with the United States Youth Soccer Association. If you wish for your child to play up a level, please contact us at soccer@stcindependence.org to see if accommodations can be made.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to coach your child(ren) in soccer, it is a fun experience and a great way to give back to your school. If you'd like to volunteer to be a Head Coach or an Assistant Coach, it's asked that you be Virtus compliant. This is a Covington Diocese requirement for all school activities. If you need information on the training, please reach out to me separately, and I'll point you in the right direction. This must be completed prior to the start of the season!

SPORTS VOLUNTEER HOURS AVAILABLE
Come help make the St. Cecilia Basketball League a success. Last year we were able to make almost $15,000 for our kids. The money raised is split with the school and the sports committee, so all kids benefit from this work. In addition, the sports committee has utilized funds to upgrade equipment for the gym classes and for recess. We can only support our kids when everyone jumps in to help. Please grab a volunteer slot today!
MEN'S SPORTS STAG
Come out for another epic night on 1/18/25 at 6pm in the Undercroft filled with live music, a coney bar, draft beer, games, and raffles while watching the NFL divisional round! Draft beer and coneys are INCLUDED in your ticket price!
The 2025 Men's Stag, is brought to you by the St Cecilia Sports Committee. We are committed to having more sporting activities available to the children during the recess hour. Proceeds will purchase a school mascot, a gaga pit, and 9 9-square game set.
This year’s raffles include: Blackstone Tailgater Grill, Buffalo Trace 7 bottle Bourbon, Yeti Orange backpack cooler, and a 115 can stocked beverage cooler. Drawings will be the night of the event and you don't have to be present to win.
