Hello Woodsy Owls,
Hello Woodsy Owls,
As we all know, winter and early spring months often bring an uptick in illnesses, and we’ve seen an increase in cases of viruses circulating in our community, particularly those causing high fevers, headaches, and vomiting. While these illnesses can be concerning, we encourage everyone to stay vigilant in protecting our students’ health and well-being.
Here are a few simple yet effective tips for keeping your child’s immune system strong:
Ensure Adequate Rest – Children need plenty of sleep to stay healthy and recover quickly from any sickness. Encourage your child to establish a consistent bedtime routine.
Healthy Nutrition – A balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water helps to keep the immune system functioning at its best.
Wash Hands Regularly – Remind your children to wash their hands frequently throughout the day, especially after coughing, sneezing, and before eating.
Stay Home When Sick – If your child is not feeling well, please keep them at home until they are fully recovered. This helps prevent the spread of germs to other students and staff. Students must stay home the day after they have a fever or vomit.
Hopefully we can end this yucky virus soon. The kiddos going home with it look miserable.
Additionally, we are thrilled to invite you to an exciting Parent Focus Group Meeting on February 10th from 4:30-5:30 PM in the multi-purpose room. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our School Psychologist, Mr. Rooks, and our Wellness Liaison, Mrs. Wall-Denzler, as they share insights and strategies for supporting our children’s mental health and wellness.
Seats are limited, so please be sure to reserve your spot for this informative and engaging session. It’s a great chance to get involved, ask questions, and learn more about the resources available to our school community.
We look forward to seeing you there and continuing to work together to support our children’s growth, health, and success!
Thank you again for being a part of the Woodsy Owl family.
It truly takes a village.
