Spring Testing
Lakeside conducts various forms of testing throughout the school year so we can evaluate students’ learning and inform our teaching practices. District level assessments are the FAST and Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) assessments. The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) testing is state-mandated for grades 3-4-5. High achieving students in grades 2-5 take a test called CogAt in the spring to screen for our high potential/gifted programming.
Your classroom teacher will be sending out more detailed information regarding specific testing dates for their classrooms.
Dress code....
Specific info from the student handbook....
Shorts, skirts, and tops that expose the midriff, undergarments, or are deemed, by the administration, to be excessively revealing are not allowed
We ask that you observe the clothing your child wears to school to see that it is appropriate and in good taste for our school community. Students who are inappropriately dressed will be asked to contact their parent(s) to bring them more appropriate clothing for school.
Clothing that is fashionable may not be acceptable in the school setting.
Screener
Since the pandemic, we have realized the need for social-emotional support more than ever. To support this need, all Lakeside students will complete a social emotional screener called mySAEBRS. mySAEBRS has 20 questions and takes about 3-5 minutes for students to complete. (We did this same screener during the 2022-23 school year) Your child’s answers will be used to help teachers select topics for their class connect time, as well as identify students that may need extra support. Your child will be completing this screener sometime during May 6-9th in their classroom. If you have questions about this screening tool, please contact Sara Johnson (smjohnson@isd2144.org or 651-213-2301)
If you do NOT want your child to participate in this screening, please sign and return the opt-out letter by May 1st
