Student Activities and Information
Student Announcements and Outlook Email
Please encourage your students to read the daily announcements (Cambridge Headlines) delivered to them each day through their FCS email and posted to www.cambridgehs.org.
Announcements include upcoming events and activities for students, important due dates and action items, any bell schedule changes, and school news.
If your student has issues with their FCS Outlook email account, please have them visit the Media Center or our IT Specialist in room 2804. Students must have access to and check their FCS email daily.
Student IDs
Students have been much better about wearing their IDs. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement in reinforcing this safety measure. When students wear their IDs, it is easier for us to spot if someone doesn't belong in the building, and it also helps us identify students in the event of an emergency. Please keep reminding your students to wear their IDs at all times.
If your student has lost their ID, a replacement can be requested at Replacement School ID. The cost of a replacement ID and lanyard is $10. For more information about Student IDs at Cambridge, visit Student IDs.
SmartPass
SmartPass allows the school to track student passes and allows for accountability with loss of instructional time. Students will be given passes every day and will have the ability to request passes to see a counselor or administrator. Passes to the bathrooms, vending machines, water fountain, media center, clinic, and breathe room are all available through SmartPass.
In addition, this system allows administrators to limit the number of students in the hallways and allows them to know who is out of classrooms in case of emergency. Students will only be able to use and access the system through a device - students cannot access or use passes via cell phones. For more information, including a student video on the system, visit SmartPass.

Parent Resources
September is Attendance Awareness Month
From our School Social Worker, Ms. Kaitlyn Lynch
Keep Your Child On Track in School: Pay Attention to Attendance
Showing up for school has an extreme impact on a student’s overall performance and lifelong success. As students gain more independence, it is still imperative that families play a role in encouraging attendance.
What can you do? Help your child stay engaged.
- Find out if your student feels engaged by their classes and feels supported and safe in the school environment.
- Monitor your child’s academic progress and seek help from teachers or tutors when necessary. Communicate any concerns.
- Stay on top of your child’s social contacts. Peer pressure can lead to skipping school, while students without many friends can feel isolated.
- Encourage your child to join meaningful school activities, including sports and clubs.
- Communicate any barriers your student may encounter throughout the academic year. We are here to support you!
Questions about the Attendance Policy? Visit www.cambridgehs.org > Students and Families > Attendance Guidelines.
