Barnwarming Dance - October 11
Dust off your boots and join Jackson FFA members at Barnwarming! It will be a night of dancing, games, refreshments, and mechanical bull rides!
The Barnwarming dance will be held on Friday, October 11th in the Old Gym at the High School from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. Tickets are $8.00 and a can of food. Food will be donated to a local food pantry. This is a casual dance. Students are recommended to wear jeans and a nice shirt.
All students are welcome to attend; each student can bring one guest, if they wish. Guest permission forms can be found outside the main office.
Purchase your ticket in advance through My School Dance and your parent/guardian will be provided the permission form for the mechanical bull! Tickets may also be purchased at the door (but you will miss the bull rides). Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 27, through the QR Code above.

School Meals
We ask that outside food not be brought in or delivered to school. At the High School, students are able to get breakfast before school starting at 7:30 AM. Second chance breakfast is offered between the first two periods each day to allow students to get breakfast if they missed it before school. We have four lunch shifts.
Parents may apply for Free or Reduced lunches by filling out the application through School Cafe.
Visitor Policy
We try to limit the number of visitors in the building.
ALL visitors must check in at the main office.
If you need to sign your student out, you may call the attendance office at (573) 243-9513 to arrange this and avoid the need to enter the building.

JHS Cell Phone Policy
Beginning August 2024, students will NOT be allowed to use cell phones, digital watches with internet access, earbuds, or headphones during class time. These devices are expected to be out of sight and silenced during the entire class period. We recommend students leave them in their backpacks.
Students will be permitted to use their cell phones and digital watches before school, during passing periods, lunch, and during advisory privilege in privilege locations.
For students who require an electronic device for medical reasons, appropriate accommodations will be made.
If a parent or guardian needs to reach a student, we encourage you to use the student’s email account. In case of an emergency, please contact the main office at 573-243-9513. Our goal with this policy is to maximize student learning, reduce distractions, and support academic success.
Ways for Students to get Help with their Classwork
Advisory Mods: Every Advisory period students may get help from their teachers or take assessments during our Mod times. We have two 30 min mods on these days to allow students time to get help from multiple teachers.
Success Center: Success Center is an after school tutoring program in the library from 3:00-5:00, Monday - Thursday. Students do not have to sign up. There are certified teachers able to help students who attend. Though we have a schedule with specific subjects for different days, students may get help on all of their classes at this time. Students may also make up tests/quizzes during this time.
Monday: Science
Tuesday: Math
Wednesday: ELA
Thursday: Math
Collaboration: Each collaboration we have a room available for students to make up tests and quizzes. Students can speak to their teachers ahead of time to make sure the test/quiz is accessible at this time.
ICU time 5th Hour Wednesdays: Every collaboration Wednesday, 5th hour is extended by 25 minutes for students to work on their assignments. They may ask their teacher for help during this time.
