The cold snap has caused us to pivot a bit, but we LOVE the plans for next week, and our virtue of focus will be KINDNESS!

Check out these highlights:

Tuesday February 11

- Grade 1-6 continue swimming lessons at the Eastlink Centre. We're grateful to have received a grant from the County of Grande Prairie to make this life-saving experience possible for our students,

-Hot dog preorders due for a date-change hot dog day, Wednesday, as students will be swimming on Thursday.

Wednesday February 12

- Hot Dog Day! Thank you to our Booster Group for being flexible and providing this fun fundraiser for our students all year round!

-Big Brothers/ Big Sisters lunchtime programming begins for certain students. We're blessed to have outside agencies partnering with our school for the good of our students!

Thursday February 13

- It's the 100th Day of School! What will you look like at 100 years old? Join us for a fun and imaginative dress-up day as we celebrate our 100th day of school!

-Our MicroSociety Saints Market will occur during block 2 in the morning to ensure that our economy stays moving as our saints will be swimming during our normal market time. This week will see BLUE shopping, and YELLOW running ventures!

- Grade 1- 6 continue swimming lessons at the Eastlink Centre.

-Orders for our next vendor-based hot lunch, delicious WingN' It, to be served on Thursday February 13th are due online through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Friday February 14

-Valentine's Day! We celebrate the love that lives and grows at St. Mary's, and in our great big Saints family! Students are encouraged to wear red, pink or white. Individual classrooms may celebrate with a party, please watch for correspondence from teachers.

-Prayer Service and Virtue Awards ceremony to begin at 10:45am. While we're gathered together we will recognize those students that exemplify our January Virtues (Simplicity, Resilience, Prayerfulness and Motivation).

We had a fantastic time celebrating Literacy Week! Literacy is the foundation of lifelong learning, and family involvement plays a crucial role in fostering a love for reading, building strong skills, and creating meaningful learning experiences at home. A huge thank you to all the families who highlighted the importance of literacy through engaging activities like reading, bingo, and so much more. Your enthusiasm and participation made the week truly special. Congratulations to our Literacy Week winners—way to go! Our Home Reading Log contest continues, keep turning pages at home!

Does your family have a case of the sandwich blues? We’ve got you covered! Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal and order hot lunches from our favorite vendors. Log into PowerSchool, save time and place orders for lunches all the way to Spring Break! Orders close about a week before the scheduled date, so you don’t have to order all at once, but you can if that's easier for you! There will be no refund for lunches missed due to student absence.

Saints' City Citizens had the opportunity to solidify their Market Day process while adapting to an earlier schedule. From setup to take-down—and all the learning moments in between—our students showcased flexibility, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving. Learning happens in every step of the journey!

St. Mary's does not charge base fees for the academic year, however, certain programs do have fees attached.

Fees for our Pre-K program are due monthly by the 4th of each month.

Junior High CTS classes have been invoiced and emailed home. Statements will reflect fees for the whole year, however, only fees associated with Term 1 and Term 2 are past due.

Fees related to the upcoming Grade 4-8 ski trip are payable through PowerSchool. Please contact the office if this fee is a barrier to student participation.

Fees can easily be paid online through the PowerSchool Parent portal, or in person in the office. Please don't hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for payment.
