Inspirational Story
Students age 12+ may carry Narcan on their person without prescription and training and administer to treat an opioid overdose.
Recently, the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) had the privilege of recognizing two security team members for their heroic actions in saving a student’s life. Their swift decision-making and immediate administration of Narcan were pivotal in this life-saving effort.
Leticia Esau, Director of Health Services, played a vital role in providing comprehensive training to all county office security staff.
School nurses are integral to fostering safe and healthy learning environments, and this story highlights the impact of their work.
We know many of you have similar experiences of ensuring student safety, and we celebrate your dedication to this vital mission. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to the health and safety of our students.
