BFH Falcons' View
May 5 to 9, 2025

Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and got a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather! This past week saw our Handball teams close out their regular seasons with silver medals and our Sr. Badminton Doubles boys team dominating at Provincials. I also was lucky enough to take in both casts of our amazing drama production of Letters to Sala. We have so many students to be proud of at Facey. Our students in Culinary are preparing intently for SKILLS Alberta Provincials this upcoming week, and we are excited for our Artists who were featured in this past weekend's Strathcona Art Show.
Coming up this week, we will see our AP students write their first round of AP exams. On Monday, May 5 we will be undergoing our placement of ribbons ceremony to honor Red Dress MMIWG2S Day in our front foyer. We will also be holding our annual Bev Facey Plant Sale on May 8 and 9, just in time for Mother's Day! Our Sr. Boys and Girls Soccer teams will be in full swing, and our Track athletes will be competing at their first Metro meet. As well, both of our Senior Handball teams have qualified and are contenders in the ASAA Team Handball Provincials this upcoming weekend.
I encourage parents to get involved with our amazing school council staff recognition initiative, coming up on June 4, 2025. They are planning a barbecue for staff at the school as a gesture of appreciation. Please check out the information on how to get involved by volunteering or contributing below.
I hope you all have an awesome week and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

BFCHS Red Dress Day - MMIW2S Initiative
Please wear Red on Monday, May 5 - in Support of MMIW2S Day!
The goal on Monday, May 5 is for students to tie their ribbon to a mannequin with the intention to be mindful of what MMIW2S day means and our dedication to lowering these horrendous statistics and working together towards reconciliation, which is the responsibility of every Canadian. How You Can Participate
- Wear Red: Show your support by wearing red on May 5 and encouraging others to do the same.
- Learn and Reflect: Explore the history and ongoing impact of MMIWG2S and consider ways to advocate for change. Visit the National Calls for Justice to deepen your understanding and learn how you can take action.
- Join the Event: Attend our gathering to honour lives lost and stand with their families. There are often community walks and events in your local area.
