End of 1st Quarter
BWMS Families,
Can you believe that the end of the 1st quarter of the 2024-25 School Year is today? I must say we have had a fantastic start of the school year and we appreciate the ongoing support from home to help provide a great experience for your student. As we start a new quarter next week, this is a great time to sit down with your student and have them share with you 2 things they think they have done well and 1 area they could improve. Reflection helps spring adjustments that will make a difference. Thank you!

School Updates
- Attention 8th grade families: the Washington DC Packet has been posted on our website for your future reference.
- The end of the 1st quarter is Thursday 10/17/24.
- There is no school on Friday 10/18/24 in lieu of conferences.
- 1st Quarter grades go live in PowerSchool on Friday 10/25/24 at 8:00 AM. As a reminder of our general focus in middle school, we want our students to care more about the learning and less about the grade.
- Attention 8th grade families - the DC registration and deposit is due this Friday 11/25/23 to Prodigy Student Travel. http://www.ProdigyStudentTravel.com link code BWDCA
- The SOAR Cart will be rolling on Wednesday 10/30/24.
- The MS Scholastic Book Fair is coming... Week of 11/4/24.
- Picture Re-take day is Tuesday 11/5/24.
- The first Eagles Night will be Friday 11/8/24 from 6PM-8PM. Sponsored by our Student Council, this is a time for fun, games and more at BWMS. Cost is $5 at the door.
- BWMS would love to celebrate your Veteran at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday 11/15/24. See Details Below.
- AM Parent Drop Off Information: Thank you for continuing to pull all the way around the circle and filling in each space to support an efficient drop off of students each morning. As a reminder, our first period class begins at 7:30 am. The doors open at 7:05 am for your convenience and there is typically no waiting line until after 7:20 am.
DACC Coffee Chats
It's never too early to start thinking about college and career opportunities for your student. The Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) offers amazing "super electives" in high school, such as Zoo School, Engineering, Robotics, Biotechnology, Nursing, Cybersecurity, and many more. These programs allow students to earn college credits, gain industry credentials, and stand out on college applications and resumes.
We invite you to attend an upcoming Coffee Chat hosted by DACC and At The Core to learn more about these opportunities. Choose from two in-person sessions and two virtual sessions:
In-Person Sessions:
- Tuesday, October 15th from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Orange Township Library
- Tuesday, October 22nd from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Delaware Area Career Center
Virtual Sessions:
- Tuesday, October 15th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 23rd from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
