Friendly Friday Update

As we end the 3rd week of school, students should have some reading materials that they are bringing home on a regular basis. Ask your son/daughter about what they are reading, and have them give you a general overview of what the reading is about. This provides good conversation and allows them to tell you what they are comprehending about the material. We have a multitude of genres at school and we want our students to be reading on a regular basis to help them improve their reading, comprehension, and vocabulary skills. Thank you for your assistance in helping us create opportunities for our students.

Dungeons and Dragons is looking for Dungeon Masters! Whether you already have a campaign running or are completely new, we are the place for you. If you are willing to lead a campaign, check the flyer and this form or email melissa.maas@isd197.org for more information. Player sign-ups will not start until we know how many DMs we have, so if you just want to play, hold for more info soon!

Register for the Warrior 5K on Saturday, September 28 at 9:00 a.m. for a fun, community-based event that awards prizes for the top three runners in various age categories and is a primary fundraiser for the ISD 197 Educational Foundation. Registration is open here.

We love our Warrior fans! But please remember: All K-8 students must attend games with their own parents or guardians, K-8 students must sit with their parent/guardian at the game, no backpacks are allowed, and no outside food or beverages are allowed. Thank you!

Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month, FHMS! As a school, we are doing some school-wide activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Please complete this survey (for students and families) if you wish to participate in addition to those activities.

The lost and found box is already collecting items! Parents and guardians are welcome to come outside of school hours to look for their student's lost belongings. There is a large box between Lower Red and Lower Blue, and a bin in each the boys and girls locker rooms.
