This week's staff spotlight is Mr. Robert Dillard! He is our facilities manager and keeps our building up and running!

How many years have you been at LCA?

10 years

Where did you attend college?

I went to Angelo State University. I have a degree in management and HR.

What do you love most about LCA?

I love seeing the kids grow and learn to love the Lord.

Tell us about your family.

I have been married to my wife Lisa for 28 years and we have one daughter, Megan, who will be graduating in May from Baylor.

Have you always lived in the DFW area?

We moved to DFW in 1996. We have lived in Mesquite, Carrollton, Lewisville and Corinth for the last 24 years.

If you could enroll in another LCA teacher’s class for a day, whose class would you chose and why?

Mrs. Candi’s class because they get to go for rides, play and eat. Can’t beat that!!!

Tell us about a teacher who inspired you as a child.

My 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Barth. She loved oceans and all the creatures that live in there. She helped me realize how great a creator we have and that he created so many species.

What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies?

I love the Jack Reacher series and Alex Cross series books. I love too many movies to pick just one or 10 movies.

Inside the Box photos are coming back to LCA March 31st through April 2nd! Students may bring a prop (stuffed animal, instrument, sports ball, favorite object) to be in one of the photos. Our elementary students will wear their uniforms. Photos are before lunch. Our planned days are below:

Join us at this year's Spring Fling on Thursday, April 17th from 9 am to 12 pm! Spring Fling is an exciting fundraiser and a great way to celebrate Easter! We will have a book fair, carnival style games, a gaming truck, concessions, egg hunts, a silent auction and much, much more! Spring Fling is a family event, so we welcome all families to visit the games and activities together. You can also invite your family, friends & neighbors! We need you! We need help with making phone calls to solicit donations, picking up donations, coordinating class baskets, wrapping baskets, setting up games, running games and more! If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Jennifer Gray at jennifer.gray@lakelandchristian.org.

The i55 Book Fair will be back on campus April 14-17. Students will have the chance to visit the book fair with their classes and create a wishlist. Parents may also visit the book fair at the following times throughout the week:

• Monday through Wednesday:
• 8:15 am to 11:20 am
• 3 pm to 4 pm
• Thursday (Spring Fling)
• 8 am to 12 pm

If you are available to help with decorations, set-up or working the book fair in the afternoons, sign up using the Sign-Up Genius below. We have also started an Amazon wish list for a few fun jungle-themed decorations!

The Parent-Teacher Fellowship Team exists to strengthen the relationships between students, parents, and teachers at LCA. We do this by putting on school fellowship events (like the Picnic in the Park), sponsoring teacher luncheons, encouraging teachers on their birthday, and anything else that might make LCA a better place to attend school or teach! While we are a small team, we so appreciate the support provided from a wide range of parents in each of these efforts. Would you like to get involved with Parent-Teacher Fellowship? We can always use new ideas, willing volunteers, and contributions to fund those ideas! Email Susie Bagwell for more information.

We hope you'll join us for an LCA family picnic at the park on Saturday, April 5th at Doubletree Ranch Park! Bring your own lunch (picnic style or take out) and a blanket or camping chairs. After lunch, cool off with a Frios gourmet popsicle ($5)! Do you have any yard games like corn hole, bocci ball, ladder ball, etc? Bring those as well! We are so looking forward to enjoying this time with our LCA families!
