Principal Update
Pine Lane Crew,
I am calling this Field Trip Marathon Week. On Monday, our 4th Grade visited the History Colorado Center. On Tuesday, Kindergarten visited the Zoo, and tomorrow, 3rd grade will also be visiting the Zoo. Wednesday, some of our 6th graders competed in the Chaparral Feeder Hexathlon and did a phenomenal job. We also had a number of students display art in the District Art Show. Next week, our 6th grade will be headed off to PLUM, an incredible right of passage for them. A huge thank you to our teachers for planning these incredible learning experiences for our students!
This week our Crew has also been working hard on our end-of-the-year iReady Assessment. And preliminarily, I am very pleased with the growth and achievement our students are showing. This is a testament to our amazing staff and the efforts of your children. Thank you for your continued partnership to support Pine Lane and for encouraging your child to put forth their best effort each and every day.
The famous philosopher Unknown relayed, “Teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions.” There is much truth in that statement. Each of us has had teachers to help guide, instruct, and inspire us to get to where we are. Sometimes those teachers are the formal teachers we had while in school and other times it is mentors, friends, and family that come alongside and do life with us. Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I am extremely grateful for the amazing staff we have at Pine Lane that are committed to our mission to “empower excellence in character, achievement, and contribution to a better world.” I would encourage you all next week to reach out to those staff members who have made a difference for your child and let them know your gratitude. Staff, I wish you all a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week.
As we move through May, we continue to have a lot of things happening. Pay close attention to our communications. We are about to launch our final fundraiser and community event Bear Crawl which will culminate on May 21st. Our goal in these efforts is to raise $25,000 toward classroom furniture. On May 15th we have our final SAC meeting of the year in which I will share our end-of-year celebrations and data.
Have a great weekend! And remember, we are Pine Lane! We are Crew!
