Bogota Middle School Update
December 8, 2023
A Note from Mr. Albiez
Dear Bogota Parents/Guardians:
6th grade classes visited the Apple store this week to learn about cutting edge technology in a workshop. We had originally scheduled the 7th grade to go next week but we will be postponing those 7th grade trips until later in the school year. Thank you to Mrs. Demetrakis for working to make these trips possible for our students.
Our Giving Tree in the lobby continues to be open for donations of lightly used and new clothing, toys, and games. All items will go to families in need.
Bogota Middle School Basketball tryouts were held this week. Thank you to our students who made the effort to try out!
We will have a fun filled week before our Winter Recess. The flier for each themed day, beginning on December 18th, is below. I know that many middle school students may think that they are "too cool" to participate but it will be fun!
Should you ever a question or concern, please email me or call the main office.
Sincerely,
Christopher Albiez
BMS Principal

6th Grade Social Studies
Mr. Pelletier's classes began working on a project focusing on the acronym GRAPES (geography, religion, achievements, politics, economy, social structure). Students are reviewing the unit on Mesopotamia while getting a deeper understanding of each of the categories in GRAPES. Their final product will be a 3D ziggurat and will be on display by next week.

The PTO is asking for snack donations for our BMS Movie/pajama day coming up in a few weeks. You can sign up to donate by clicking on the button below.

Now that COLD and FLU season is upon us, here are a few important reminders :
1. If your child is not feeling well PLEASE DO NOT SEND them to school for the health and well being of our teachers and students.
2. Your child MUST BE FEVER FREE without medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
3. If your child is going to be absent , PLEASE call the school and leave your child's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.
4. Please encourage your child to eat before coming to school.
5.PLEASE remind them to wash their hands frequently. It is the best way to prevent the spread of germs.
6. We encourage your child to bring a reusable water bottle to school to use instead of using the water fountain. Students can fill their water bottles at school.
WE HAVE FOUND A PAIR OF CLEAR FRAME GLASSES IN A BLACK EYE GLASS CASE. IF YOUR CHILD HAS LOST THEIR GLASSES PLEASE TELL THEM TO COME BY THE NURSE'S OFFICE.
Should you have a question or concern , please call the school.
Thank you,
Nurse Mulder
