From Mr. Merrick:
Dear St. Jerome Families,
Thank you to our Class of 2024 and Sacrament Classes to help lead us this morning in a beautiful May Procession. Let us all take time this month to ask Our Blessed Mother's intercession for our school community and all of our families.
We had 56 families raise 150.00 or more for the Race for Education; we entered the names into a wheel, shuffled them, and used it to pick the winner. Congratulations to the Saliaj family who won the $500.00 tuition credit. We will have the same for the summer raffle (please see the graphic below).
Terra Nova scores for 1st-8th grades are being sent home with an explanation letter today. A variety of factors can affect a student’s performance on a standardized test. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that the Terra Nova is only one measure of your child’s academic performance; these scores are used in conjunction with classroom tests, teacher observations, and other assessments to gauge your child’s academic progress
All of our classes (the average score for each grade) scored above the average for the AOP schools in Philadelphia for both Math and ELA. Again, while the Terra Nova is only one of many measures that we use to gauge student achievement, this is certainly an indicator of the hard work of our students and teachers along with the support that we receive from all of you.
Please see the graphic below and the Wednesday Folder for information about our Summer Cash Raffle. This has been very popular these past few years as we head into summer vacation. The winner receives $5,000 in cash, and our school receives funds for summer projects and startup costs for the upcoming school year. Please make sure tickets purchased have both the purchaser's name and phone number and your family's name.
We wish to thank Miss Wolfe’s 2nd grade class did a great job helping as our readers and gift bearers for our April School Liturgy. We also wish to acknowledge our 2nd graders who made their First Holy Communion this past Saturday; thank you as well to Miss Wolfe and Mrs. Fiatoa for making sure that they were very well prepared: James Altomari, Olivia Bascom, Amelia Cordero, Shane Darcy, Maeve DiBello, Wyatt Flite, Liam Gallagher, Emma Griffin, Logan Doyle, Charles McGinnis, Jack Mooney, Jelani Neba, Brayden O’Brien, Naomi Onyekwelu, Lorenzo Pavese, Benjamin Rodriguez, Patrick Rogers, Nicholas Salama, Lucas Santiago, Harper Smith, Jake Yacko
Our 2nd and 7th graders all enjoyed a special lunch on Monday to celebrate their receiving the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation, respectively.
