School Reminders
Early Pick Up
We will ask you to wait until dismissal if you arrive after 2:15 p.m.
Before School Entrance
Please remember that we have no supervision available before 7:20 a.m. Unless your student is enrolled in the before care program of the Boys & Girls Club students should not be dropped off earlier than 7:20 a.m.
If you need to drop them off before 7:20 a.m. please enroll in the before school cared offered here at Quest.
Dr. Haddock advocated heartedly to have this resource available for parents.
Please understand that staff cannot be responsible for students before 7:20 a.m.
Before School Arrival
Students must enter the school through the playground doors to go to breakfast which begins at 7:20 a.m. We will be going back to this practice in order to limit the traffic coming in and out of the school's front entrance doors.
From 7:20 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. the doors leading to the corridor will be locked so students must go around to the playground to enter for breakfast.
Only students accompanied by their parents will be allowed to enter the school before 7:45 a.m.
During inclement weather, students will be allowed to enter through door #2 beginning at 7:20 a.m. (This door can be found to the left of the front entrance.
New fees for damage to Chrome books
Now that remote learning at most schools has ended and additional federal funding for devices is no longer available, schools will again begin charging families for any damages incurred to district devices during the 2024-25 school year. Please note that the first incident of damage will not be charged. Any following incidents will be charged based on the type of damage.
During online registration and online student check-in for the 2024-25 school year, parents will now sign a student technology device contract .

Our purpose/goal:
Student Council raises funds through selling school spirit wear, donations, and other events. Our goal is to raise funds to allow us to purchase new items for our students, items for our character store, have free community events, and also continue our community and global outreach. With your help, I know we can meet each of these goals! Thank you for your continued support.
Vision and hearing screenings are still in progress for children who were absent on Tuesday and Wednesday and a group of 7th grade students. If alterations in your child’s vision or hearing are detected, you will receive a message on Talking Points by the end of next week. I will follow up with an email if the parent or guardian has not accessed the message within two to three days. As this is a screening not an examination the messages will include a recommendation to see a vision specialist.
Please remember to have a change of clothes in backpacks for all children in kindergarten and first grade. Older children may need a change of clothes also. The clinic has a stock of T-shirts, a small supply of underwear, hats, and gloves.
The final immunization notices have been sent as indicated via email, Talking Points, or a voice message.
Children cannot have any medication (this includes all over-the-counter medications including cough drops) in their backpacks or pockets. The only exception is self-carry contracts for inhalers for older children.
Stay healthy!

Remember- hoof and mouth disease are in livestock only
There are no vaccines available for prevention of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.
Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease
Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease is a viral disease commonly seen in children. Hand, foot, and mouth disease is different from hoof and mouth disease, a disease diagnosed in farm animals. Humans cannot “catch” hoof and mouth disease from farm animals nor spread hand, foot, and mouth disease to pets or livestock.
Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a (usually) mild illness common in children, and usually seen in the summer and fall. People can have the disease more than once as it is caused by different types of viruses. The disease is common in children younger than 5-years but can affect older children and even adults.
Signs and symptoms include tiny blisters in the mouth, on the fingers, palms of hands, soles of feet, and or buttocks. Eating is painful due to pain from the blisters in the mouth. The person may have a fever. Vomiting and diarrhea is rare but may occur.
The incubation period or period from exposure to the disease and development of symptoms is 3-6 days. The virus can be shed (or spread) for several weeks to months through feces (poop). This is another good reason to remind everyone in your family to wash hands often, keep fingers away from eyes, mouth, and nose. In addition to the fecal-oral route, the virus spreads through the respiratory system with droplets. It is important to remind your family members to cover their mouths and wash their hands.
Hand, foot, and mouth disease are viral illnesses so will not respond to antibiotic treatment. Over-the-counter medicine is useful for temperature elevation or body aches (remember NO aspirin for children). Health care providers may prescribe “Magic Mouthwash” to help with oral pain and facilitate the ability to eat and drink. It is important to hydrate during the recovery period.
When can your child return to school? The rules on returning to school include absence of fever for 24 hours without use of medication and absence of vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24-hours without use of medication. All mouth sores need to have healed and any drooling needs to have stopped.
Contact the health care provider if the child is unable to eat and drink due to mouth sores or if the child is extremely ill. In addition, please notify the nurse (303-326-1537 or sgolden@aurorak12.org)

If you own and or know someone that owns a small business and would be interested in making a donation please let us know! In order to make this event fun for everyone, we will be looking for volunteers to help out in 30 minute increments so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy.
We will be sharing our auction items ahead of time so you can plan ahead!
Where does the money go?
PTA looks very different from what we thought, until we joined and learned all the stuff that PTA either supports or is responsible for funding throughout the school year. We provide the funds for transportation to field trips, which has increased by 50% in the last year. We provide teachers with a budget for classroom enrichment as well as a small allowance for class supplies. We will be reviewing and voting on our budget at the next meeting which would be a great opportunity for you to see first hand where the money is planned to go.
We Have A Facebook Group!
Wondering what is going on? Curious about upcoming events? Wanting to volunteer during fundraisers or at school events but not sure how? This is your one stop shop for how to support the school, fundraisers and overall school community. Please be sure to answer the questions when you ask to join.
