We are thankful the District had the opportunity to participate in the active shooter training last week. The teachers and staff who participated gained invaluable knowledge from the exercise that they can now share with their students and fellow staff members. We are truly thankful for being able to join force with all the agencies involved.

Four years ago the Ozark School District redesigned the pathways for students to take mathematics courses in an effort to prepare more students for college and careers. On July 11, the Southern Regional Education Board recognized the District for the math overhaul, with the Ozark Career Center receiving the Gene Bottoms Pacesetter School Award.

Two OHS students achieved AP Scholar Award status for the 2017-18 school year.

Congratulations to Cody Goins and Brett Jennings!

Brett Jennings was designated as AP Scholar with Distinction, which is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores or 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Cody Goins was designated as AP Scholar, which is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

Ozark High School FBLA students Seven Thomsen, Christian Armstrong and Nathaniel Kean, recently traveled to Baltimore, Maryland, for the FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conference (NLC). The NLC is the pinnacle of the year, with over 15,000 attendees and 140 competitive events. Students qualified after competing at the State Leadership Conference in Springfield in April. The Ozark team qualified in Computer Gaming & Simulation and made it to the final round placing 11th overall! Congratulations!

We want to welcome the 40+ new teachers to the Ozark School District. Thanks to the Ozark Chamber of Commerce and the community, the teachers had a red-carpet welcome July 30.

Parent Portal is now open to fill out back to school forms for existing families and begin the student registration process for new families. Schedules and teacher assignments will be available Aug. 9. Bus numbers can be viewed under "student details."

At this time, the mobile Parent Portal app (called Student 360) cannot be used to fill out back to school information forms or register a new student. Computers are available at each building.

Please note Ozark Middle School has a new start time.
