November Newsletter
CMC continues to strengthen partnerships with community organizations and partners. 11th and 12th grade CMC students participated in Manufacturing and Taste of Trades Day at Clackamas Community College ( part of a national initiative called Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) that aims to promote manufacturing careers and showcase the industry to students).
10th grade students had the opportunity to attend the Associated Builders and Contractors Craft Championships (students see up close HVAC, Sheet Metal, and Sprinkler Fitter apprentices hard at work) in order to promote students’ growth in awareness of career options.
We plan on continuing our partnership with Portland Workforce Alliance as part of CMC's College & Career Symposium in March that will allow all of our students to understand the plethora of career opportunities available to them.

Instant Viking Day
Clackamas Middle College hosted Instant Viking Day at the end of October in which students were given the opportunity to apply and receive an immediate admissions decision on the spot from Portland State University (PSU) staff for Fall Term 2025. PSU admissions representatives met with CMC students and walked them through their application and got CMC students started with the next steps for fall enrollment. Six CMC students had their application fee waived and were immediately accepted into Portland State University. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students, PSU and Clackamas Middle College.
