In an effort to create life-long learners, the staff at Westridge Elementary School, working closely with parents and community, strives to realize each child's fullest potential in the areas of personal, social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development.

Dear Westridge Families,

Next week we have picture day and our Fall into Books event on Friday, September 13th. Pictures will be taken right away in the morning. There is more information about how to order school pictures below. Fall into Books will be that evening. The book fair will be open from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Then there will be a free hot dog dinner from 5:00 to 6-30 PM. We hope to see everyone there.

Fall conferences are quickly approaching. We will be holding Parent/Teacher Conferences on September 24th and 25th. Conferences will run from 3:00 to 6:30 PM. Students will be dismissed at 2:06 each day. Then there will be no school on September 26th and 27th.

We will be using Pick-A-Time to schedule conferences. See the information below for directions on how to signup online. The window will open up on Monday, September 9th, at 9:00 AM

and it will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, September 22nd. Times are first come, first serve, so be sure to schedule your time right away.

Dear Families,

We were excited to kick off the school year by talking about Kindness. Our definition of Kindness is acting with understanding, generosity, and care. We believe developing skills around Kindness will help us build a strong foundation for a great year of learning, connecting, and growing together.

In our current classroom guidance lessons, we are discussing Bullying and creating an environment of kindness and respect. Using this curriculum, students will experience a blend of anti-bullying methods with other important skills like empathy, communication, and resilience.

Check out our Family Letters for more information about our guidance curriculum. Watch for monthly newsletters like these that outline the skills we are learning and provide fun ideas to practice these skills at home.
