Longhorn Ledger
December 2- December 6
Principal Press
Greetings Longhorn Families,
As we welcome the festive month of December, we want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of following our PBIS expectations of being Responsible, Accountable, Problem solvers. Students can show these qualities in many ways. A few items we could use your support with are maintaining academic integrity and responsible decision making at school. With the advancement in technology it is imperative that we talk to our students about upholding honesty in their academic work, respecting their peers by not calling out in class this helps create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
December's resiliency skill: Empathy. Empathy involves understanding the thoughts, feelings, and actions of others. To support this at home, please refer to the attached Empathy Parent Guide for ways to discuss this important skill with your child
FAST PM 2
Beginning Monday , we will begin FAST PM 2 assessments on Monday, December 9th. It is crucial that students are present for the three weeks we are in school during December to ensure we can assess them without delay.

Science Instructional Materials Adoption
The Pasco County School District is participating in a full-scale K-12 adoption of Science instructional materials aligned to the Florida’s State Academic Standards for Science. We would like to invite you to be part of the narrowing team, which serves to review and narrow the materials submitted by publishers during the adoption process. To submit your interest for an opportunity to serve on the narrowing team, please complete this form. There is an 8-10 evening commitment for this work. A detailed list of courses to be reviewed, dates, and times of narrowing team commitments are available on the instructional materials adoption website. The deadline to submit your interest is September 20, 2024. Parents/guardians selected through the randomized screening process will be notified by October 7 via email. We appreciate your partnership in this very important work.
