Dear SMS Community,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and rejuvenating two-week break, filled with moments to recharge and connect with loved ones. As we return to school, it’s a great time to refocus and remember the importance of schedules and sleep in supporting student success.
Research consistently shows that adolescents need 8–10 hours of sleep each night to perform their best academically, socially, and emotionally. Establishing consistent bedtimes and morning routines can significantly improve focus, memory, and overall well-being. As we settle back into our routines, let’s work together to prioritize rest so our students are ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities ahead.
We are excited to finish Quarter 2 strong, with the end of the quarter approaching at the end of January. This is a great time for students to reflect on their progress, set goals, and give their best effort. Let’s keep the momentum going!
