Message from the Principal's Desk...
Fall is in the air! The temperatures are dropping, so please make sure your child is coming to school dressed for the weather.
Last month we had some amazing events here at Mt. Pleasant. We cheered on Matty Gregg for his run against hunger, hosted a Cultural Fair and raised money with our annual Color Run.
The school cheered on Matty Gregg, who is a local radio host, as he ran by Mt. Pleasant on his journey to the Canadian border to help end hunger. The 4th and 5th graders ran along his side to Greeley Park and listen to a presentation before they returned to school.
The Cultural Fair celebrated the diversity of our families and community with some great food from places such as Brazil, Mexico and Dominican Republic to name a few. Our ELL teachers gathered information from our students and staff to create a paper quilt showcasing where our families came from.
The Color Run is a PTO fundraiser event which raised over $5,000.00 to help support events here at our school. The students enjoyed the warm sunny day by running through an obstacle course while the teachers and volunteers sprinkled colored chalk on them. Also our own Mrs. Walker and Ms. Short volunteered for a chance to be dunked in the dunk tank by any student that was able to donate $20 or more. Let's just say that got several dunks in on that chilly day! Thank you to you both and our community for raising so much for our school and the students.
Congratulations to our newest NEFie Winners!
Congratulations to Wendy dePenasse Mouwen and Lisa Renaud, our newest NEFie Award Winners! The Nashua Education Foundation Excellence in Education Awards (NEFies) is an annual event recognizing excellence in instruction in Nashua’s public schools. Each year they invite teachers, administrators, parents and students to nominate a teacher in the district who goes above and beyond to make the learning experience a positive and meaningful one for Nashua students. This year our two wonderful ELL teachers were nominated.

Check out our new Car Drop Off Lane
As parking is so limited around our building, we are utilizing the car drop off lane behind the school on Abbott Street this year for the mornings only. Please note that the right hand side of Abbott St. is a Car Drop Off Lane Only. Please do not park in this lane. There will be staff members stationed behind the school starting at 8am to welcome your children. Please have your child prepared to leave the vehicle on the right hand side, so as soon as you pull up the child may easily exit the vehicle and the car lane may keep moving forward.
If you would like to walk your student up to the school, please find an appropriate place to park and avoid this lane.
Thank you for your cooperation!
