Welcome New Staff
Don LaValle, Technology Assistant - Aviation Science & Technology
I have been a pilot since I was 18 years old, with my first solo flight being in a single-engine airplane. Progressing over the years, I became a Commercial Pilot, with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings. I have flown several different types of aircraft, from small Cessna's and helicopters to larger and older twin-engine aircraft like DC3's. Most recently I achieved my FAA Advance and Instrument Ground Instructor Certifications. I have been a CTA Aviation volunteer for the past two years and enjoyed that role! This summer I had the opportunity to assist in the Aviation summer school program and received my Washington State Paraeducator certification. I believe in continuous learning, and sharing aviation with people of all ages and skill levels. I am looking forward to being part of CTA and sharing my knowledge to support the dreams and academic goals of the students who attend our program.
Annabelle Linden, Legacy High School Liaison
I am a graduate of the Evergreen School District, and this is my third year working in education. My passion for supporting students is rooted deeply in my own experience having educators who supported me through my high school education. I strive to help every student acknowledge their own capabilities and celebrate their accomplishments. Helping students have compassion for themselves and others is a value I hold close to my heart. When I am not working to positively shape future generations, I spend my time with my three cats, learning the piano, and painting.
Michael Nolan, Bilingual Paraeducator
I have worked in education for 29 years, as a teacher, curriculum specialist, AP and elementary principal. It's great to be part of the student support team at Cascadia Tech! I appreciate working with students, families, and staff in CTA's amazing programs. I enjoy hiking, cycling, and writing short stories. My wife and I grew up in California and have lived in Arizona, Colorado, and now Washington with our three children.
Cole Edgley, Instructor - Fire Science, District 6
I currently serve the community of Clark County Fire District 6 as a Company Officer and Engine Captain. I entered the Fire Service in 2017 as a member of Eastside Fire and Rescue, prior to transferring to Clark County Fire District 6 in 2021. Before entering the Fire Service, I served as an Officer in the U.S. Army for about five years and spent a brief stint as a Director of Operations for a public charter school in Tacoma Washington. I have an extensive background in Operations Management, Program Management, and Leadership. As the Fire Cadet Site Coordinator for CCFD6, I have organized a team of highly qualified, experienced, and motivated Firefighters and Fire Officers to teach and educate our Fire Cadets. CCFD6 Cadets receive a high level of training in complex and varying disciplines associated with the Fire Service.
Kelsey Lukes, Pro-Tech - Medical Assisting
I graduated back in 2015 from BGHS and was a past student of Cascadia Tech Academy in the AMS program. I graduated with my CNA license and worked at an Assisted living facility. While working there I wanted to further pursue my medical education. I went to Charter College and received my MA-C license. I have worked in the medical field for a little over six years and this is my first year working on the teaching aspect of things. I am so excited to be on this journey, assisting students with the same passion as myself in medical work. Aside from working, I am married to my amazing husband David, and we have a beautiful three-year-old daughter named Ellinor. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, and doing yard work.
Brett Rudolph, Instructor - Pre-Electrical
I bring over ten years of construction experience and another ten years in the electrical industry, holding a 01 Journeyman License in Oregon and Washington. My commitment to community service shines through a decade-long involvement as a coach and youth sports manager. I am excited about the opportunity to leverage my extensive knowledge, leadership abilities, and communication skills at Cascadia Tech Academy, contributing to a dynamic and innovative learning environment for our new generation of electricians. I enjoy the time I spend with my family along with the outdoors.

Retail Space used as Satellite Campus
Fashion Design moved into a retail space at a satellite campus. Criminal Justice students helped with the move.
Over the last year and a half, Fashion Design students have tested out an in-house alterations business for staff and students. The success and simplicity of the business model and the need for more space allowed for this next step in the evolution of Fashion Design at Cascadia Tech Academy.
Cascadia Alterations will open in the Spring of 2025. It will be a small storefront that will be open to the public.

Grow the Trades from DEWALT
Construction Technology at Cascadia Tech Academy is named one of the DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant recipients! To be among 166 organizations selected for our efforts to help close the trade skills gap is such an honor. Learn more about this amazing opportunity >
www.stanleyblackanddecker.com/impact/people/grow-the-trades
Second-year Instructor, Lance Landis shares, "One of the aspects that speak volumes about Construction Technology is the employment of the graduates after they leave the program. Our school conducts a graduate follow-up annually and my students are typically two to three percentage points below the adult unemployment rate. Many students gain employment before they graduate and are highly sought after because of my reputation in the area for producing quality employees. I encourage employers looking to hire to meet with students before spring break to begin the employment process."
The learning culture Lance creates revolves around empowering students to become their own teachers, fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability. The students learn how to become a professional on a job site including carrying themselves with dignity, communicating effectively, and resolving conflict issues such as harassment and inequality. They also learn perseverance, and to not give up when they have a dream.

Summer Fest Cruise-In Re-Cap
Thank you to our sponsors and the more than 700 supporters who came out to support Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation at our 2024 Summer Fest Cruise-In! This was a record-breaking event, as we raised funds to support Career and Technical Education at Cascadia Tech Academy. We welcomed our community into the classrooms to speak directly with our students about the unmatched training and support they receive at Cascadia Tech.
Over 220 classic cars were in attendance, along with Tony “Magic” Oberio performing his amazing magic act, and Waterfront Band performing on stage! Culinary, Baking & Pastry Arts students were once again in top form serving up a BBQ Lunch, and what many are saying is the Best Car Show lunch in the area. Along with showcasing some great classic cars, the theme of the event was focused on our programs and students, with our students awarding 20 Student Choice Trophies. Seven cars were named Best of Show!
Special Thanks to our Summer Fest Event Sponsors: Johnson Bixby, Integrated Tax Services, Daimler Trucks, BOB’S Paintland, Distinctive Landscape, ABM, Local Laborers 335, and International Graphics and Nameplates. Additional thanks to Kelly Porter for his help putting on the car show, our Criminal Justice students for their hard work managing our parking, and all the student and staff volunteers who helped with tours!
New Partnership
Where are They Now
Congrats to recent Cascadia Tech Academy, Grads Juliette Davis and Samuel Grice. Juliette earned her Private Pilot License yesterday and Sam flew his initial solo last week. They both achieved these epic milestones at FLYIT Academy in Camas where at least four Cascadia Tech Aviation grads are instructor pilots! Way to go!
Welcome to ParentSquare
Evergreen Public Schools uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. If you want to update contact information, you will need to reach out to your student's building secretaries.
StudentSquare is a safe and secure communications tool for students to stay connected and communicate with their teachers, coaches, and club advisors!
