Updates from the Cafeteria
To deposit money into your child's lunch account electronically visit myschoolbucks.com to create an online account. You can also download the mobile app. Students can bring in cash to lunch, but sometimes that money gets stuck in pockets instead of deposited with the cafeteria staff. Students may bring a lunch from home on any day they choose.
Updates from the Clinic
6th grade is one of the required immunization grades per the state of Indiana. Below is a list of the required immunizations for 6th grade. One of three options must be fulfilled for ALL 6th grade students: 1. Proof of shot records via CHIRP or provider. 2. An appointment confirmation to receive the shots past the exclusion date. 3. Religious exemption letter provided by parents (can be sent to you by the nurse for a signature upon request). Our exclusion date is 9/4/24. Any student that does not have up to date immunization records at that time will not be allowed to attend school until records are updated with accurate information.
Updates from the Main Office
Please see the infographic below regarding the new attendance policy for all of MCCSC. New attendance laws are now in effect. The most important thing for parents to remember is to call in your student's absence regardless of what category the absence will fall under.
PACE Class Field Experience
This past week the PACE class visited the Hendricks County Historical Society Museum in Danville, IN to prepare for this year's Secrets on the Shelf project. While there they were able to get specifications on their chosen artifact that they will be highlighting as well as take a tour of the town square and learn about the history of the buildings and their originals purposes. This project has been recognized statewide for it's link to local history and community.
Cadet Ambassador Leadership Training
Our Cadet Ambassadors traveled to Camp Tecumseh last week in Brookston, IN to attend leadership training. Over two days, these students participated in many activities in order to bolster their communication, collaboration, problem solving, and leadership skills. They are now more ready to tackle various responsibilities over the course of the school year!

Be The "I" In KIND
These students were caught being KIND! Mason and Scarlett helped a classmate pick up their supplies when they all fell on the ground They handled this stressful situation that their peer was experiencing with patience and selflessness. One of Brandon's peers was having a rough day. He created a card for them and had his classmates and teachers sign it to cheer them up. Charlee helped another student to pick up their things after they dropped them in the hallway. Maddox helped a peer to clean up all of their art supplies during class. Mckenzie volunteered to help sell concessions at a V soccer match this week when they were short staffed. Westin saw a peer with their hands full and opened the classroom door until they were able to come in. Oliver found a lost water bottle and filled it up before bringing it back to its owner. It's small acts like these that make our school a great place!
