BOYNTON ELEMENTARY
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s hard to believe it’s 2025. Time sure does fly and so has this school year. I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday along with their winter break and had lots of opportunities to rest and spend quality time with your family. I am thankful that we made it through this year and an entire semester with our students. I know that most of us are glad that the year is over and a new year is beginning. Thank you for all of your help and support this school year. I appreciate our students, staff, parents, PTO, and Business Partners. You all have handled this year with such grace and love. I don’t know what’s to come in the new year, but my prayer for our staff, students, and parents is that we all stay safe and healthy and that we continue to provide our students with the best educational experiences and work together as a team.
January is a time of reflection and new beginnings. A time to look back and see what we were able to accomplish but also a time to set new goals and move forward in a positive direction. I encourage each of you to take time to reflect and then set new goals that you would like to meet for the remainder of the school year. Talk to your child about what goals they would like to accomplish and help them take steps in that direction. Share your goals with someone. Together we can accomplish our goals and make great things happen for our own personal lives and our students’ lives in 2025.
SCHOOL SAFETY
Happy New year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break with your families and loved ones. As we get back into the swing of things here at Boynton let's focus on safe travel. Vehicle crashes are a leading cause of serious injury or death and that can be attributed to improperly used saftey equipment. It is imperative that we use the proper equipment when we drive with our kids. This means having the proper car seat, booster seat, or seatbelt and ensuring the equipment is installed correctly. With this being said, please ensure your child is properly restrained before you leave the school and enter the roadway. If you are unsure of the current child safety seat laws or need any information about the topic feel free to ask me or any other Georgia Law Enforcement Officer. It takes a village and our village is the best! Let's continue to keep our kids safe!
Thank you and let's keep nurturing our kids and keeping them safe!
Officer North

Happy New Year!
The holiday season has come and gone, and I would like to thank you for your participation with Boynton’s Angel Tree and the Stocking Full of Love Toy Drive. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to assist many families and help make their Christmas a little merrier. We are looking forward to an exciting new year.
January is National Mentoring Month
Research has shown that youth who have a mentor are more likely to
Attend and be more engaged in school
Form more positive relationships
Make smart choices that put them on the path to making better life decisions
If you can read a book, play a game, enjoy lunch with a friend, and be a positive role model…then you can be a mentor.
Make a difference in a child’s life by being a mentor!
Thank you to our Boynton mentors who are making a difference every day.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Mrs. Bell.

**I will be Safe** I will be a Team player** I will Always be Respectful** I will be Responsible**
Third Nine Weeks PBIS Focus: I will always be RESPECTFUL.
Being respectful means showing consideration and regard for someone or something.
Here's a breakdown:
- Valuing others: Recognizing that everyone has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity.
- Active listening: Paying attention to what others say, asking clarifying questions, and showing you understand their perspective.
- Kindness and empathy: Treating others with compassion, understanding their feelings, and showing concern for their well-being.
- Honesty and integrity: Being truthful and acting with integrity, even when it's difficult.
- Respecting boundaries: Understanding and respecting the limits and personal space of others.
- Tolerance and acceptance: Accepting and appreciating differences in people
- Appropriate behavior: Using kind words, avoiding insults, and behaving in a way that doesn't cause harm or discomfort to others.
Respect is a fundamental value that fosters positive relationships and creates a harmonious environment. Thank you for working with your children in helping them to be respectful.

BOYNTON BEYOND
Boynton Beyond will be closed the following dates: March 12, March 28, May 22 and May 23.
Please remember Boynton Beyond ends promptly at 6:00 PM. Any student not received by 6:00 PM will be charged the late rate fee of $2.00 per minute in addition to the regular hourly rate.
We are in the season of sickness. We have taken precautions in our classrooms to control the germs. If we call to let you know your student is ill and has a temp, we follow the same policy as during the school hours. Someone will have to come get the student, and they can't return to school until they are fever free, vomit free, diarrhea free for 24 hours. Thank you for your help!
MEDIA NEWS
What a wonderful break with family and friends! We are ready to get back to work and learning. Kindergarten students will embark on a journey with maps and globes. First grade is moving on from Weather to Physical Science (light and sound). Second grade will shift their focus to enhancing language skills as we work on plurals and past and present tenses. Third graders will be taking a break from learning about and practicing the home keys on typing.com to starting their cursive packets. Meanwhile, 4th graders will explore morphology and context clues to deepen their vocabulary knowledge and comprehension skills. Finally, 5th graders will begin to learn how to properly cite passages in their writing to prepare them for the writing portion of Georgia Milestones. I am looking forward to the new year and more teaching and learning.
LIBRARY LEADERS
This year Mrs. Roloff, our Media Center Specialist, created the Library Leaders and Library Leaders in Training. These students help Mrs. Roloff get and keep the Media Center clean and organized for all students in our school. These students are an amazing addition to our Media Center and our school community.

NOTES FROM THE NURSE
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and stayed safe & well. Please remember to keep your child at home if they are sick. Always go by how your child is acting; if they are acting sick, keeping them home to keep an eye on them may be a good idea.
Below are some symptoms that mean your child should stay home:
1. Fever -Your child should be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications before returning to school.
2. Vomiting or diarrhea - Your child should be without vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
3. Bad Pain - Pain is always something you want to keep an eye on, & possibly contact your child's doctor.
4. Bad cough, or anything that affects your child's breathing -A really bad cough may require a call/visit to the doctor.
If you have any questions, or concerns please call me at 706-866-1521.

THE BOYNTON BISTRO
We are getting a new online payment system. Parents can begin setting up payments online for lunch and breakfast on January 3, 2025. Our new online payment system is called EZSchoolPay. Any money paid previously will transfer to our new system.
Please remember to look for weekly charge letters from the cafe. We have several high charge balances. If you have not filled out a free/reduced lunch form this year, or if you were denied before and your income has changed, please take a moment to fill one out at www.LunchApplication.com. You will need your student's ID/Lunch number.
Students on the free/reduced lunch program MUST get a full meal in order for it to be free. A child may get one free breakfast and one free lunch on the program. Any extra or individual items must be paid for. If a student brings a lunch from and needs milk, the student will be charged for the milk. Any extra food items must also be paid for.
